I suspect this is related to the "real" rezoning maps that are supposed to be released this month.

I did not think the next round of boundary maps were expected until October.

Look at the revised boundary review schedule:

https://www.fcps.edu/about-fcps/maps/2024-2026-boundary-review

The “final scenarios” are not even going to be developed until November, after the governor’s race and well after the September special election.

Yesterday someone posted that their post about DEI and boundary review was deleted. That post has since been deleted. That is interesting. The boundary review thread was recently locked when it came out that the Dem 11th district candidate in the September special election supports using One Fairfax for every decision and every policy. That would mean DEI based boundary review. Exactly in line with that candidate’s views.

If I were the Fairfax Dems (or FCPS…same thing, I realize), and I wanted to do DEI based boundary review, I would not want the 11th district candidate asked about it, or forced into making a statement that would tie FCPS hands later this year.

All signs point to a DEI based boundary review post November election. FCPS may believe a Dem in Richmond gives them a free hand.

Even so, I don’t think that warrants personal security for Reid.

Will Centreville impact the election the way Loudoun did four years ago?

It won't be just one person.

The timetable shows updates to the scenarios through September
and another round of community meetings starting in October. They aren’t going to have community meetings unless they have updated maps to review.

I assume Reid will attend many of these meetings with her security detail in tow. And remember they are going to have to start holding in-person meetings at each affected pyramids under their policy, which may make for a more heated atmosphere.

The administration wants nothing more than to force out a bold superintendent and create internal chaos in a school district in Washington’s backyard that doesn’t comply with federal demands. The messages she sends standing up for fcps values is like waving a red flag in front of a bull. I wouldnt want her job.

Reid out is the best thing for FCPS students, who cares about how it impacts Trump.

"Due to some fast-evolving operational needs, I've had to accelerate the timeline for filling these roles," the second email reads.

Something is coming and it is going to be bad, real bad.

I'm not trying to be obtuse but what do you think is coming?? This whole country is real bad these days so who knows anymore.

give me a break. You think rezoning issues and even corruption don't happen at other schools. Her chance of someone physically attacking her are minuscule. This is insane. And the poster who implies it would be a Trump win if she were ousted. This is not about Trump, but perhaps we need a "no Queens" protest until we get answers.

No, Centerville won't because Fairfax County is ver blue and VERY pro abortion.

The centerville thing will likely increase votes for the democrats.

There is no Centerville in FCPS. Or Westfields. Way to demonstrate you probably aren’t even local.

I wouldn’t count on this. I am moderate on abortion, but what happened here is extremely inappropriate, a violation of laws, and definitely I miss use of taxpayer funds. It doesn’t matter what my personal opinion is about abortion there was definitely something bad going on here.

You are clueless if you think this Centerville abortion thing will do anything but help the Democrat candidates.

Do you not talk to any of your neighbors in Fairfax County?

FCPS paying for secret abortions against state law will create more votes in Fairfax County.

FCPS doing very unpopular rezoning, especially if it is extensive, will probably lose the democrats votes, which is why they moved the map release to right after the election.

The maps must be much worse than the maps released in the spring.

Everyone local spells it "Centerville"

The school is actually "Centreville" with a flipped R and E? How fancy.
