This type of knee jerk comment takes away from the seriousness of this issue. Her need for personal staff on our dime has nothing to do with DEI or “left wing.” |
He should give her free security detail for life in exchange for her loyalty. |
Is she about to blow up the boundaries in unimaginable ways and she will want protection?! |
Travel, too. This is really odd. Does anyone know when it was first advertised? Interesting that closing date is original date to respond to DEI suit. |
Just tell her to stop dei it will stop her paranoia |
you're free to have your opinion, but I'm entitled to mine, and it is hardly knee jerk. she is a grifter of the highest order and is using the power of county government to impose left wing values. Armed protection at our expense is great for her, but she would love to take away our First Amendment, Second Amendment, and plenty of our other rights. |
So, when are they going to advertise for protection for the School Board? |
Won’t the school board also need protection. Maybe just shelve the boundary study. |
So, she has a driver to take her to the schools? And, if she is going the school generally is locked to outsiders.
Is this really necessary? She apparently wants someone full time. Michelle, it is time to resign. |
So I work for a mid-size company based here and our insurance required us to get a bodyguard for our CEO a few months after the United Healthcare CEO was shot. We have a smaller budget and less staff thanFCPS so it might not be her choice. I am not a Reid fan but this might be not something hung she can control. |
This is not the norm. Is your business healthcare insurance? Planned parenthood? She is superintendent of schools. Wouldn’t it be public if there are threats requiring holiday and travel protection? |
Why does she need a bodyguard? This is ridiculous. |
Possibly. Maybe she talked to Kathy Smith and got nervous: https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/crime/hard-feelings-over-school-boundaries-prompts-alleged-assault-in-virginia/2015/07/11/a52863be-2801-11e5-b77f-eb13a215f593_story.html |
From the article:
““She came after me,” Smith said. “She tore the clipboard out of my hands and started shoving me. And then she grabbed the sunglasses off my face.” The reason for the woman’s alleged outburst? Smith said the woman was upset over a school boundary vote the board member cast — in 2008. The controversial change that was designed to ease crowding swapped the neighborhood’s assigned high school from Chantilly to Oakton. Clearly, Smith said, the move left some parents more irate than others. “She ended up with a kid in each of the high schools, and she didn’t like that,” Smith said.” |
I used to clerk for a Fairfax County judge - not even the chief judges nor the clerk of court had security like this other than being nearby the sheriff’s office or when in court. |
