1000% agree. This is the only comment sane parents need to read in this insane soccer board. Too many parents focused on the wrong things possibly because they don’t understand soccer. Just caught up with the hype. |
This sounds like a problem across the country. Is this only an issue in ECNL? |
She was the head coach of brave 08s that went to the Seattle playoffs before MV ran her off pre merger. Not sure what happened when she came over to FVU. |
All true. But really, why is anyone surprised that a business makes decisions based on money? Isn’t that how all businesses are run? I don’t get the outrage here. Are there people who think soccer clubs are not a business so they are surprised by this behavior? |
Seriously? So BSC took all the FVUs? Last I heard BSC had like 12, so this is a huge shift. |
I heard 19 BSC and 13 FVU |
Girls living in VA but playing BSC will not be able to play HS, I guess... and vice versa. Maybe it doesn't matter at this level since college exposure is the goal. |
Absolutely not only an ECNL issue. Have a DD high level ECNL player and the drama/politics that go on with her team is neck and neck with my other DD who is one team below the ECNL RL team, so dont even know what league that is....those parents are even worse because they dont even know what ECNL is and think ECNL RL is the promised land and are constantly back stabbing players and parents to coaches to try and make it to ECNL RL. Really ugly stuff and the worst part is its all for nothing because I dont think even one player on my second daughters team will make it to even D3. these are u13s. All the while girls confidence and desire to participate in an athletic sport and decency goes out the window. At the end of the day a couple years from now, dont know how many will look back with fond memories. |
FVU will most likely have some of their 2011s rostered with the 2010s. They will be fine. |
Moving goal posts: 26-27 Season will likely be better with all the NVA 09 trap players playing with FVU 09s now will then join the 10s in a year with BY/SY changes leading to a very strong team that will keep FVU 10s in the top 2. |

It doesn’t matter in terms of exposure, but while the “in season” teammates are playing HS, typically the team has few (or no) games, a reduced practice schedule and light attendance. It’s hard to keep sharp - and improve - with limited practices, lower practice intensity and no games. |
Those players will move on next year when the age groups shuffle. One year with MV will be enough for them. |
A year with MV could have a player that was considered Power Four material quickly drop to MAAC level. This is not a shot at the MAAC. MV just shouldn’t be anywhere near players who dream of playing at the next level. |
I hear some FVU 10 girls that are not going to BSC are reaching out to Arlington and VDA. No one wants to stay at FVU. |
