All are starters except for the #2 goalie, and its a grand total of 5 players. Only one is irreplaceable. Roster is at 15 now , FVU will be just fine. #1 goalie gets full games now, roster will grow to 18 but stays slim which parents love especially in recruitment years. This may be addition by subraction...as long as everyone stays healthy. On the flipisde I heard there were 2 ACLs injuries in that group of 15 left. So who knows?

Wrong! Only 3 players have requested player cards to leave to BSC, but none have been released by ECNL with the recruitment violations now exposed and false information provided to these families by BSC. There might now be reconsideration by a couple. There were also 2 unregistered players being recruited, but 1 has already committed to FVU, the other is still deciding. 2 forwards declined BSC to remain at FVU.

No dog in fight and don't know any of the initials being talked about. But this above is why this always seemed stupid to me. Its after July 1, so FVU would have to release players to allow them to join another ECNL club within 50 miles. Maybe you go after 1 or 2 and get lucky, but once you go after eight there's no chance FVU is going to let any of them go. Strategically stupid.

It's August 1 for the new season. July was playoffs. So they wanted to play in playoffs and then leave.

Like any rational person. They were part of the reason that team made playoffs and any good club would have sent them whether they were leaving or not. Especially since you pay dues through the end of July.

How would it have changed anything for FVU if the players told them they were leaving in May? It would have created a divide on the team for playoffs and likely would have got FVU to remove our coaches.

It would have been honest. There's that.
Many other players go to the playoffs with a team they decided not to stay with. Happens every year, but a least they are honest about it.

Say whatever you need to sleep at night, travel across the river and play spring ball. Parents made their choice, the coach was underhanded and shady about it, but he wanted players to follow him. Go. Enjoy. Your player will be missed, but the crap this situation created will not. FVU is not awful, it's not great at the moment, but it's not awful. We will figure out, really good and skilled kids are still grinding it out and they like each other a lot, they are hungry to play together as team. So say whatever you need, follow who ever you want. I hope it will be worth it. But FVU will be just fine. And for everyone else who is reading this and chose to leave after playoffs or right before to play with BSC at the playoffs. No need to bash the club you left - doing so says more about you than the club you left.

This is the saddest part. It's a small soccer world in the end and everybody knows who this group is that left and are now bashing their kids former team, teammates, friends and club. It does say a lot about who people really are.

Sorry but I’ve seen too many posts on here that are seemingly from a certain group of people and then realize that because of the anonymity anyone can claim to be anyone and post as if they are involved in the issue when they’re not. Take everything you read on here with a grain of salt. No one is who they or others claim them to be.

Most times that would be true. But in this case iykyk -- it's sadly pretty obvious.

For years, there have been constant complaints about NM’s “coaching style”…err yelling, his conflicts of interest (which everyone, defectors included used to gripe about), and his massive rosters (30+ players on his 2009 team last season). But now he’s supposedly the next Pep Guardiola?

And ML…his “big” accomplishment is inheriting a stacked 2010 team and riding it on cruise control to the playoffs each year. Even then, he never advanced past group stage two years in a row and managed to take a 10–0 loss in the postseason, which this very forum chalked up to his lack of coaching ability. Was it his amazing coaching or the Brave/FVU merger that got him over the line this year? Make up your mind, because prior to all this some of the new BSC parents were touting the fact that the influx of 6 brave players made a “super team”

But suddenly these two are so great that parents are willing to abandon the team they just went to the final 8 with? Makes total sense. Go ahead and tell everyone NM and ML’s “development” were the real reason you left, definitely not the promises and glossy sales pitch they dangled in front of you the last three months.

Overnight, the “stench” of FVU became too much to handle but if your supposed coaching gods NM and ML hadn’t been canned, would you still be shouting “Go FVU” from the sidelines this season? Guaranteed. So i guess it wasn’t the crap show that is FVU after all.

This is exactly the reason people are leaving FVU because the leadership is attacking coaches that even the players still there want coaching. Try selling to families why FVU is worth staying at. Tell me why playing for MV and CW is good for my child. In the past, every team CW and MV has coached actually gets worse, so tell me why it will be different. Tell me why it is going to be better in the future under the same leadership that governs one of the worst boys programs in the country. MV is the ECNL Director and not a single other club would even hire him to coach. You had to lie and say CW was coaching a team at tryouts because you knew that players would not sign up for MW. The reality is players were going to leave regardless, the timing was never going to be good for you. Look in the mirror rather than attacking and you will see why players are leaving.

Players were going to leave regardless? Or players were going to leave because CW’s teams allegedly get worse each year (baseless accusations from a nameless keyboard warrior)? Which is it?

Fact is CW (and DB) are great coaches. CW still has strong connections. And he’s a good person. But go ahead and let your daughter experience whatever it is others are selling. I’m sure they’ll grow up and fondly look back at the decisions you made for her (and not at all made to combat your own insecurities).

CW and DB are great coaches and we would have been happy to have them help ML and NM coach our daughter. But when your leadership doesn’t rehire good coaches because of their affiliation with another club (boys related), it tells me that the leadership doesn’t really care about our kids and more about their ego and politics.
And everyone on this website is a keyboard warrior!

Make us a favor and MOVE On!!!!! There was a point on why SYC left Union, a point ECNL made McLean merge to BRAVe, a point Great Falls SC got stuck, etc etc etc. if you want to be blind and keep defending and living your so good coaches, move on, wait for next drama and show around your damn good coaches and new club. If your expectation is to play in college learn that once you get there you won’t be be able to select the coaching staff, they select you and mommy and daddy won’t be there to buy you a new spot with your loving coach.

Lies! More than a few had no plan or intention to leave at all, until they got the calls from the new BSC coaches. In fact, their initial reaction was shock and despair that the team could be breaking apart as leaving was never their intention. But the manipulation, hard sell and promises worked on them.

Please explain the manipulation, hard sell and and promises!! Didn’t two of the 5 coming over not sign up in the first place?

Yup. And 1 amongst them worked hard for the coaches. All has been revealed! Have the others wondered 'why'?. Wait & watch who reaps ALL. Poor families still don't realize the extent to which they've been played.

thats cool and all but if there are no sanctions suspensions and lost games we are all free to move around now. Maybe FVU should get on a mid season recruitment campaign if families that pay their commitments can now move around as they please.

This would be assuming people would want to come to FVU mid season. But a good chance to pull RL players up from the partner clubs

Only 2-3 roster spots will be filled by known ECNL/GA level players not RL tryouts from partner clubs. FVU 10s will be in nobody believes in us mode, I wouldn’t want to play them, keep talking…
