They got wiped! No excuses from this camp at least; got outplayed and outcoached.

Meh… goals were off free kicks, PKs and corners. All can be corrected.

Add scoring goals to the list of things to be corrected.

I watched their game Saturday morning from the field above. I think they were out coached. They looked to be as talented as the team they played. I saw bad calls by the refs and unlucky clearances from corners. Their coach was sitting on the bench with his legs crossed. I thought it was weird. The other team had 2 or 3 coaches involved. I saw them again this morning and the same coach was sitting on the bench again. I don’t know what that was about. I wouldn’t argue their girls ability to play in that bracket, but I would agree they were out coached.

pretty sure that coach is done with antics within club and parents. NVA and LS appears to be a toxic relationship. And they are supposed to be one and the same. Either break off or reabsorb NVA. That would solve some of the problems.

So that's reason enough to stop doing the job you signed up for? I guess in some people's minds that's a good enough excuse to just give up on some 11 year old girls.

Sitting down while coaching is giving up?

The best coach I know in the DMV (boys side) doesn’t say a word during games. Talks to his players on the sidelines, but lets them make their own decisions while playing. Can’t argue with his results either.

We can go back and forth over coaching styles all day because I can bring up professional coaches that yell, point and direct pros that actually know what they're doing however the key word in your post is results which is what got this convo going.

Different styles work differently for different coaches and different players. My point was just that sitting and quiet on the sideline does not necessarily mean not engaged.

Totally get your point and agree, just stating that your point wasn't and sometimes isn't the case with this team.

When does the next year season start? We all know spring season is uninteresting for everyone.

Fairly shocking, especially for a top division game at Jeff Cup.

When does Bethesda hold its tryouts for next year’s U13 team? Who is the coach?

With tryouts in VA and MD now over, has there been much movement in 2013G rising U13 ECNL and GA teams? Based on scattered posts on DCUM, it sounds like Loudoun red team is staying together at NVA GA, McLean green team is staying together at Union ECNL, and SYC first team is staying together at SYC GA. Any info on whether the Arlington and Bethesda first teams are staying together at those clubs’ ECNL teams? There had been talk of significant changes at Arlington as players from MYS and NVA left those clubs due to GA switch, but that doesn’t seem to have happened. What about VDA—are their rising U13s largely from VDA and PWSI or did they pick players up from Loudoun or other clubs?

Arlington took 3-4 new girls, all from outside the club. Did not demote or promote within.

This is not correct, there were at least two demotions. Three new girls.
