And Title IX is mentioned.

Duran is contradicting Title IX by keeping trans girls on women's teams. Competitive girl athletes know this although mostly they don't complain about it. That's starting to change though as more trans girl athletes win.

Why is the right only interested in trans women playing in women's sports. Trans men play in men's sports too. Of course I guess it's not that out of pocket for the right to be more threatened by trans women then trans men. It's pretty on par for then to only care about regulating and punishing women.

Trans boys and men are very rarely winning against boys or men. The ones that do, good for them. Some of them ask to change in the women's locker rooms too.

The point of Title IX, and women's sports, is fairness - to give women an opportunity to win. Because women athletes are just not as strong as men athletes. A lot of people are ignoring that.

Interestingly, Title IX doesn’t mention gender (identity).

They are proposing changing that.

Because of course they are.

Because their girls are getting beaten by the trans-girls and not getting the scholarships they think their daughter is entitled to; whereas, trans-boys aren't out-competing the cis-boys....

This is nonsense.

I'm sure as F going to be that accepting adult without hesitation. It's quite literally the least I can do.

People can’t simultaneously argue that all the child is asking for is to be called something different while also saying if the child isn’t called by their preferred pronouns/names there is a high chance of suicide. Either it is consequential (ie if we don’t call a child by this name or use this pronoun it may adversely affect the child’s mental health and possibly lead to suicide) or it’s just like any other nickname chance and hence inconsequential. If it’s consequential then parents should know. Simple as that.

Do you even have children or are you just bored?

Clearly you can’t address my point so you decided to just dismiss who I am as a person.

Why don’t you start calling your cis child by the wrong name for a month and let us know how that goes.

Come back when you call Sue Joe for a few years and let me know if she is suicidal.

You should call your child by the name (or nickname) you have given them...as should the school staff (acceptable name or nickname is easy to include on school forms). This is not hard.

It's not hard if one likes their given name or the nickname their parents gave them. But I'll assume you're ok with an adult going by a preferred name instead? Or is everyone obligated to go by their parent-given name for their whole life even if they hate it for some reason? I bet you don't mind women changing their names to match their husband's.

It's a matter of simple respect to call people by the name they ask you to call them - assuming they're sincere and not being funny like another poster suggests with being asked to be called trump or jesus christ.

It's not just "the right," it's anyone with common sense. XY individuals with intact androgen sensitivity have a biological advantage in sports over XX individuals. No one cares if an XX wants to play with XYs because they do not have an innate chromosomally-driven advantage.

Well 1) trans athletes make up a very small percentage of athletes so the likelihood that this will make a huge difference in their lives is very small and 2) there is always going to be someone better whether it's based on height, or private coaching, or the best equipment, or a lqrger wing span or a million other things. If my kid loses to a trans athlete then they lost because they weren't the better athlete for whatever reason.

It does not bother me. So my kid will be #2 instead of #1. Big whoop. And if my kid isn't number 2 then there are plenty of bio girls beating them.

With children, those 17 or younger, the given name or an approved\common nickname should be used. Once again, this is not hard.

Adults can choose what they like to be called, no need to go by what their parent named them. I never said anything different.

I don't care if women take their husband's name or not. Completely up to that adult.

It is the children we are talking about. Parents get to determine what they are called.

Why have women’s sports at all in that case? There’s always someone better, right? Who cares if they’re almost all male? If your daughter can’t make the team because she got beat by all the boys, you could just tell her thems’ the breaks, right? What a valuable learning experience…

An athletic mediocrity self-identifies as a woman and immediately dominates the game, and women are expected to just shut up and accept it. Sounds like the ultimate male privilege to me.

Are we still discussing schools or are you onto Olympic trials now. Trying to keep the dog whistles in order.
