SEE - it's very few Crossfield families signing this petition. It's FAKE NEWS

Sounds like a good time to create your own petition. If few Crossfield families have in fact signed then yours will crush theirs!

22033 is Fairfax/Navy. That one road that is split between Lee's Corner and Crossfield also has 22033--but there are not that many homes there to contribute that many signatures, I don't think. Navy friends may be helping with the petition.
20191 is Reston. Fox Mill Woods. But, they are not at Oakton.

The real question is: where do the other 20% of signatures come from? That may be Grandma and Grandpa.

20191 may be at SL, but they would be impacted by a move to Western too.

The point is that Fox Mill families are signing the petition because they'd rather be at Western. Navy families are signing because they see the writing on the wall. If Oakton goes significantly over capacity, they're next in line to get kicked out.

Fox Mill Woods is not Fox Mill elementary. There are Crossfield kids in Fox Mill Woods that go to South Lakes.

We are not talking about Fox Mill Woods, sweetie, we are talking about Fox Mill Elementary. Families from Fox Mill Elementary and Estates are signing the petition to keep Crossfield at Oakton because THEY (fox mill) wants to go to Oakton.

Maybe but I don’t know of anyone who has done that. I have not heard anyone discussing Crossfield or any other school outside of commenting that they don’t know people opting in from Crossfield or Oak Hill. That doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened but if it is I would think that the parents doing it would have advertised the petition to the FMES families that want to move to Western. For the most part, the people I know are focused on their kids and not worrying about the drama at Crossfield.

Are you capable of having a conversation in a polite manner or do you really think that being condescending and rude to everyone somehow makes you look stronger? Just curious.

DP (actually I did post the breakdown of the zip codes.) Agree about the PP who condescended with the "sweetie." It is rude and unnecessary.

However, the Reston zip was also represented. I think most of Fox Mill Elementary (all of it in boundary) is in Oak Hill--not Reston zips?
And, apparently, a number of people from the Reston zip did sign the petition. Not sure why.

I am annoyed at Meren for implying Fox Mill families all want to stay at SLHS. I don’t think this is the case at all, it just happens to be what SHE wants.
I want us to move to Western, because A. Property values and B. Kids being able to attend high school with their MS friends. This is a big one. And C. IB is not that great and I don’t like the amount of violence and drug and gang stuff going on at SLHS.

My kids suffered greatly in the transition between having made friends at Carson MS and then being separated while their friends all went to another HS. It is horrible and needs to end for future generations of students.

Why do Crossfield families have to suffer in this same way? We're in the exact same boat - our kids make friends at Carson and they get torn away. It's not fair.

Nobody said Crossfield families have to suffer.

Franklin has been split between Oakton and Chantilly since long before Carson was built. I guess Westfield also has some kids there, too.

If they are not affected, why are they signing a petition to keep Crossfield at Oakton?
One would think it would be those affected who would be signing the petition.
The petition was not against boundary changes. The petition was to keep Crossfield at Oakton.

I’ve noticed the pro-Western Crossfield moms post some very condescedning posts.

They are worse than the RIO moms.

But remember the Crossfield families that want to move to Western are the ones playing nice, it’s the others that are demeaning people in this thread…

I think that the person wants to move to Western, hence all the read the maps and Crossfield as being so close to Western. I don’t they are representative of anyone but themselves.

I know.

But if Crossfield is moving to Western, it’s possible Fox Mill Woods is also moving to Western. See Draft Options C and D.
