Nothing is more dangerous than a confident idiot with power. There is no shortage of people with expertise in modern war in the era of drones or the complexities of Iran. But Trump and Hegseth didn’t listen to anyone - except the Israelis. Stupidest war ever. There is no outcome in which the US is better off because of this dumb war. Now we’re talking about high gas prices as far as eye can see, even higher inflation, losing our bases in the gulf, and sending $300 billion to “invest” in Iran. And we used up most of our air defense interceptors to protect Israel - but failed to protect our bases or our Gulf allies. Which means we lost our ability to deal with more serious threats for the next couple of years as we need to replenish. The only upside I can see is that - as the US and Russia have learned the hard way - wars of choice are incredibly stupid in this day and age. Technology and all the innovation coming out of the Russia-Ukraine war has changed everything. And maybe if we could elect leaders with more two functional brain cells, we’ll knock it off with dumb wars of choice. |
| So...Trump spent hours in the Situation Room yesterday without deciding whether to sign the agreement with Iran...and now he's at his golf course. Because who cares about ending a war when it's Saturday and the weather is beautiful outside? |
There is no agreement to sign! Trump’s lackeys are hanging around the White House telling Trump he is great. No one from the US is negotiating with the Iranians. The last face to face meeting was April 11. No meeting have been held then since then. |
They don't have to have face to face meetings to negotiate, dimwit. They've absolutely been going back and forth through mediators. DP As the U.S.-Iran war hit the three-month mark, the two sides were negotiating through mediators on a memorandum of understanding that would extend their ceasefire by 60 days and begin talks over Iran's nuclear program. U.S. sources told the White House press pool a tentative agreement has been reached, but it's pending President Trump's approval. Iran also has not yet provided a response to the latest version, a regional official said. Vice President JD Vance said negotiators are "going back and forth" and making a lot of progress, but it's "still TBD" whether talks will reach a point where Mr. Trump can sign a deal. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent also characterized talks as ongoing. https://www.cbsnews.com/live-updates/iran-war-us-strikes-trump-oman-strait-of-hormuz-deal/ |
Oh yes, I’m sure that it’s all going well with all of the professionals that they have on the job and everyone is taking them very seriously
|
And the evidence of any progress in all that "back and forth" and "ongoing talks"? |
| The point was simply to rebut the weirdo who claimed they hadn't had any face to face meetings since April. They don't need to be face to face to continue negotiations. |
lol it is rich you calling anyone dimwit. Tell us about all the high level negotiations ending wars that were done without either side every meeting. You disgrace the internet with your post. |
What did I just read... get help. |
| CBS news isn’t news anymore. It is yet another propaganda arm of the regime. |
Sure. And you say that about the NYT, WSJ, Politico, ABC, AP News etc. The common denominator here is you. You are the propaganda arm of the extreme left. |
I guess you are ignoring who owns CBS, who runs CBS news and the fact that most of the talent there has either resigned or been fired. |
Everything looks far to the left from over there in the far right domestic terror land. |
Yes yes the fake news agenda is great when it works for you. |
He’s trapped between Bibi and the cabinet. He knows he has to get out but Bibi won’t let him. |
