Have had people from out of state asking about this now, based on this article.

If this ain’t the most biased article. Point blank Aziz sucked as a coach , his pass happy teams were mediocre at best, while at Falls Church yes he was able to beat some schools that were worse but never a good win vs ANY measurable other team.
If he was sooooo good he could be hired as an assistant somewhere, perhaps he forgot he’s a county employee who teaches kids first and coaches second. So him saying he fears for his job is asanine, and just because you coached at one school doesn’t mean your automatically gifted another job elsewhere.

I wish this man could sue for some of the slander he’s had to endure. But I’m also sure he feels grateful n has gratitude towards FCPS for having his back. Remember he’s a first year county employee from another county, they don’t owe that man nothing.

It seems to me to be pretty unbiased. It just laid out facts. For example, "When Aziz, a veteran coach in the area, came to Hayfield in 2021, the team had won only two games total in the previous two years. Aziz turned things around and his squad finished atop its conference, the National District, all three seasons he was at the school."

Doesn't seem he "sucked" as a coach. Also, you, yet again, prove my prior comments correct. These Hayfield kids have no decent adult role models surrounding them. It really is a shame.

I remember reading in the Washington Post in 2013 that Aziz turned around the lackluster Falls Church HS football program that was at the bottom of the Northern Region for years, the very bottom. I think Aziz went to school there in the 80s or 90s. He was definitely one of the better public high school football coaches and very much in demand. He turned losing squads into winning ones seemingly overnight.

Aziz came in when pretty much the team turned their backs on coach Hendersonville. Aziz BEST win in his 3 years in the worst district there is was MAYBE Mount Vernon and their horribly coached. So the sad song Aziz is tryna play is invalid. A principal or AD is not wrong for wanting a winning program, Aziz was not that, so they cut ties, what’s so bad or wrong about that. Coaches are hired and fired all the time and the only measuring stick they have is wins and losses. He may damn we’ll be a good man, but haven’t a good coach, simple as that.

Knocking a guy who is well-respected as a coach, educator, and a person and who is not even involved in all of this stuff that is going down right now...that's just petty and small.

As I stated, this is not about him as a man or educator, this is simply him as a head football coach. If he’s not getting it amine the AD will remove you. The most respected man in Hayfield was Roy Hill, and they found a way to dismiss/not bring him back so yes it def happens to men who are great educators and coaches, so don’t get nothing confused.

Are you the one who wrote "Point blank Aziz sucked as a coach" or the one who wrote the unintelligible line "but haven’t a good coach"?

Either way, you've been proven wrong. Take the L and go home. Overton is waiting for you to get on your knees for him.

I wrote Aziz sucked as a coach, sure he won games in a weak national division, but in 3 years what was his record against any team with a winning pedigree. Don’t worry I’ll wait
Here let me help you 0 and EVERY game he NEVER won any game that mattered NEVER won any game that possibly could have secured his tenure. It’s abundantly clear YOU KNOW NOTHING about football or what it takes to be a winner, I’m sure you played the flute or something. You should clearly leave football conversation to football knowledgeable people. Enuf of you peasant, now be gone

I was with you until you couldn't be intelligent and spell ENOUGH.

I suspect the coaches were told they could all get fired if they decide to not show up to game. So schools, do like Mt. Vernon and have players and parents make the call alone and in advance of game. Or maybe all players cough, cough, happen to be sick just before game. Or dress, show up and then walk off field to what would be standing ovation from your proud parents who will all know why. Call attention to what’s going on here as Reid and FCPS continue to attempt to mislabel it. It’s beyond “making it go away” now. Mt Vernon’s letter should be required reading for all athletes (and non-athletes).

Madison baseball recruits. (But, but, no, the best players and their families are attracted to a top-notch winning program. They pupil-place into Latin, rent homes for four years, participate in pay-to-play camps, practice in off-season not as a team but as a travel club.)

Who are we fooling?

Hayfield proselytizes. (May the mighty Lord inflict flames of vengeance upon Hayfield nation!)

If that's the case lodge a complaint. Everyone says everyone else did it...so in so does it...THEN SAY SOMETHING who can do something about it. Overton messed with the wrong parents and here we are.

Yessir. Here we are. #Hayfieldby40 We be playing, we still winning, y'all keep crying.

You don't realize how badly your comment makes you look. Parents within your program have publicly admitted they violated rules and you are bragging about winning. As per usual, it is the Hayfield players who suffer because they clearly have no intelligent, moral, decent adult role models to look up to.

What parents have come forward, they are of an adult age so don’t have to be “protected” where are these things where are the fb posts twitter rants and the like, I’m sure someone would have screenshots of these alleged actions. Otherwise it’s propaganda and fake news

Carleton Hughes, father of a Freedom/Hayfield defensive back is on the record about why his kid transferred: "Whether it was one transfer or 30, kids and parents could transfer and play for who they want to play for. That's it. You can't stop that. If you follow college sports, with the transfer portal, kids transfer all the time."

Right there, he admitted his allowed his kid to transfer for athletic purposes, which violates VHSL rules. By the way, this guy seems like a garbage father, I feel bad for his kid.

When will you Overton boosters learn you are your own worst enemy? You are too unintelligent to keep up. That is also why Overton has to jump from coaching gig to coaching gig - he isn't smart enough to hold one down. And yet you fools keep following him. Pathetic.

Some parents do not understand that this is not college. High school does not have a transfer portal. I love that these parents are shooting themselves in the foot. So loud and WRONG!

Is that youtube video still up where all the parents explain to this faux "reporter" who is just an Overton groupie all about how they all moved to Hayfield specifically to play for him? LOL.

Are they playing football at their new school? Transferred to play a sport. Where is the VHSL investigation about them.

Transfers due to bullying is allowed.

I am sure the fact that the bullying was from an adult employee made it easier.

Pls help me understand that BEFORE a game was even played an alleged case of bullying occurred by a coach and he wasn’t fired. Was the person saying Overton or someone on his staff? Then it’s NOT one case but two, for the alleged same offense, this can’t be possible.

Some kids mom claims he was bullied because she thought her kid would be a starter at Hayfield, but quickly realized there were some better athletes in the position her kid wanted to play. She then transferred him to South County where his starting position is also on the bench and the only time the boy gets on the field is to bring the players on the field water.

Is this family white?
How many of the 30 transfers are black?

They are a black family. You can watch news stories with the mother in them. It wasn't 30 kids. It was 14 from Freedom (I believe they are all black, I can't confirm), 5 from private schools and 4 from middle schools not zoned for Hayfield.

Yes. This. From above linked article. Current winners or best sports parents are those at Mt Vernon for putting in writing. Also for best coaches, the 6 that signed letter to Reid. THEY are showing their kids and players what’s right. Those lessons will last longer than any game. How does one send a gift basket of thanks to an entire school of parents? They deserve it for standing up.

On Tuesday, football team parents at Mount Vernon High School in Alexandria sent a letter to the principal and athletic director, stating, “The parents of Mount Vernon High School football student-athletes stand in unified support of the Virginia High School League’s (VHSL) decision prohibiting Hayfield Secondary School’s varsity football team from participating in the 2024 and 2025 football state championship playoffs.”

They also added that they “wholly endorse” a letter from City of Fairfax School Board Chair Carolyn Pitches to the FCPS School Board. “The letter perfectly summarizes the inadequacies of FCPS’s handling of the Hayfield issue,” they said.”

The rival school across town endorses the hate of Hayfield. So what?

Letters of no confidence? Schools boycotting games? The superintendent calling the cops on reporters outside the building (who told the reporters they were fine)? Just days after the school board gave her an early renewal of her contract?

Wow!

When FCPS is calling the cops on reporters trying to cover a meeting, you know that the district must feel really secure in their position.

What a mess. Sure doesn't given one any confidence that a district that couldn't manage to do a thorough public investigation in the summer will be able to address boundary reviews or other issues with any credibility

The schools threatening are irrelevant. They don’t have the talent to beat Hayfield. They can go out there and have fun, but their chances of winning are slim.

If the schools in the south side of the bracket all boycott, that could shake things up. But those school probably won’t because those teams are more competitive and most of them feel they are capable of beating Hayfield. Heck Madison or W&L isn’t going to take a forfeit either. They probably don’t want to play Hayfield, but I would be surprised if they let the outside drama get in the way of them giving their best effort in their championship runs.

What a strange view you have of sportsmanship and rules. "Rules for thee but not for me."

Dorsey - the Hayfield to SoCo transfer - is black.

That’s the hilarity of all of these racism claims. Football in PW and FCPS is overwhelmingly black. Go to any youth league game - it’s the center of black family socialization in the fall.

I wouldn’t say football here is overwhelmingly black. Depends on which part of Northern Va. There are plenty of overwhelmingly white and a few largely Hispanic teams in Northern Va. All these teams play each other in class 5 or class 6.
