Three out of every 5 illegal migrants rely on tax-payer programs for assistance. This is not sustainable.

But there isn’t fraud? So they’re getting assistance legally. I’m not sure what you want? Congress should do their job and pass new laws on immigration. But they won’t because that’s what makes you really angry and will get you to vote for Trump. |
Joe should do his job and secure our border. But, he won't because this is what he wants and he doesn't want to inflame the "no borders" people in his party. Many of these people entering illegally aren't even claiming asylum, but they get in anyway. Biden has shown dereliction of duty. |
What doesn’t make sense is the US has a policy that as soon as you become a citizen you can quickly apply to being your parents over. It can take on average 16 years to sponsor a sibling but a parent can take around 14 months.
Why isn’t it reversed? Siblings are younger so have years to work to contribute to the system. So many people are sponsoring elderly parents and there is NO requirement they be healthy and have their own income to support themselves. As a consequences there are a growing number of elderly immigrants who are getting free or low cost health insurance (the ACA is open to new immigrants and Biden reversed the public charge rule) so essentially free medical care which obviously is going to be quite expensive as one ages. They are going to qualify for Medicaid nursing homes, food stamps, etc., The share of newly arrived immigrants who are 50 and older in 2019 was nearly double what it was in 2000 — 15 percent vs. 8 percent. Last year almost 100,000 immigrants over 65 were allowed to migrate to the US. This is not allowed in most any other country in the world. Other countries allow long term visas for parents but obviously don’t want them migrating or Canada says the sponsee has to guarantee they are going to be responsible for 20 years. This is Canada’s requirement: The undertaking commits you to providing financial support for your sponsored family members for 20 years, starting when they become permanent residents repaying any provincial social assistance (money from the government) your sponsored family members get during that time |
I feel terrible for the actual residents of that town. I bet the people crossing in are outnumbering the actual residents of the town. Could you imagine if you suddenly found your area had a mass of people show up that was bigger than the whole population? |

Before the advent of Western society there was no such thing as borders. This is a recent development largely due to the European mindsent of conquest, the Conquistador Wars sanctioned by the Catholic Church and British Empire.
America continued that legacy when it decided to go into these people's countries setting up and topping regimes, all in the same of capitalism. These people cannot survive economically in their countries largely due to the Western system causing chaos there. So if they are streaming across the border, blame Congress, the DEA, the CIA and any other Western social structure. |
Sorry, what are you babbling about? I’ve read the entire thread - have you? I guess it’s the usual LWNJ tantrum time. - one of the PPs |
+1 If these people are allowed anywhere they want to go in the US, I sure wish they’d show up in the backyards of those who are supporting this disaster - many in this thread could use a big wake up call. |
Idiot alert^^. The ONLY people to blame for this border crisis are Biden, his entire administration, and the idiot Democrats who won’t agree to the new border legislation proposed by Republicans. That’s it. |
Viva la France! They are showing the US how it’s done.
PARIS—The French parliament on Tuesday approved an immigration bill that boosts authorities’ power to deport foreigners and limits access to welfare and citizenship, cementing the rightward tilt of President Emmanuel Macron’s government. The legislation shows how Marine Le Pen’s anti-immigration party, National Rally, is shaping mainstream thinking across the country. The bill, which garnered the votes of her far-right lawmakers on Tuesday as well as support from Macron’s party, empowers the government to expel foreign residents, who reject the values of the French republic. It tightens access to children’s and housing benefits for foreign residents living legally in France, and raises the French language requirement for residency permits. Children born in France to foreign parents will no longer be automatically granted citizenship. https://www.wsj.com/world/europe/france-passes-immigration-bill-that-boosts-authorities-power-to-deport-foreigners-e9b00d6e?st=jhfnqjj24giblzs&reflink=article_copyURL_share |
