Yeah whatever Maret bot. At least we're not paying $40K a year for a school that can't even find a field without mooching off of DC taxpayers. And the fact that you think that the only DC public school or community organization that wants to use Jelleff (despite many posts and news articles citing that Eaton, Mann, Hardy Hyde-Addison, Stoddert and the DC boys and Girls club have also asked to use the field) shows that Maret didn't teach you reading comprehension. Maybe you should ask for a tuition refund until you grasp basic literacy. |
OMG you Maret parents are insufferable racists and elitists. And ignorant ones too as you don't know the first thing about Hardy nor do you even understand the meaning of the term gerrymander. Just admit you used your money and gamed the system and your privileged kids are using a public resource at the expense of others. You'd still be a$$holes but for once in this insufferable thread you'd be honest. |
As I am sure you know, BGCGW has other locations throughout the region serving as many members as they can given the fact that they charge so little and don’t require payment from members for whom any fee would be burdensome. |
This thread is not portraying Maret families in a good light. |
171 pages in and they haven’t figured out their best move is to zip it and enjoy the spoils. |
+1 It's like the Maret posters can't grasp that more than one public school might want to use a scarce public resource. It doesn't say much for their intelligence. Plus that Maret poster is a straight on elitist obnoxious privileged a**. |
Yup - they won and it is disgusting but that isn't enough - they have to come on here and flail around trying to defend the indefensible but all they are doing is demonstrating what pompous and clueless a$$es they are. |
Actually, Maret does not have the basketball courts at midnight. BTW, is there something about midnight basketball that you would like to say out loud or are you just graciously keeping your real opinions to yourself? Boy, Maret really is looking worse and worse here. |
Yes, one would think they could take their $34 million endowment including the Maret Equity & Inclusion Fund and teach their community to not be such entitled ****. https://www.maret.org/support-maret/funding-strategic-directions |
Same jerk(s) are posting here as well: https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/843413.page |
It shows how insecure they are. They know they are a$$es but are ashamed they were publicly exposed and are desperarely are trying to justify their self-image as ‘good’ people. |
Maret is getting the support of the DC private school community. Maret feels unfairly maligned but some of the invective against them Maret-Jelleff arrangement seems to be vitriol directed at private schools in general. There are thousands of parents and students in the independent school community who live in our Nation’s Capital, the majority of them west of Rock Creek Park. Who do you think will carry more weight with Mary Cheh? Maret and other independent school parents or Hardy parents, a minority of whom live WOTP? |
Nope. Plenty of private schools families don’t understand why in the world Maret doesn’t own their own fields the way their schools do. |
^^ Also, did you see Mary Cheh’s questioning of Marjo Talbott at the hearing? Cheh did not seem impressed by Talbott’s bs. |
Maret has a large playing field. If your kids play rec soccer, chances are they have played at Maret. (You’re welcome.). Unlike DC schools which are separated on different sites into elementary, middle and high schools, Maret has all three divisions on the same modest-sized campus. So the one field is not adequate during peak outdoor sports seasons. The historic landmark designation and a DC regulatory ore debt effectively precludes Maret from developing its front yard into another field. |
