Guy looked like a runner/jogger to me. It's not like he was running from the scene of a crime with a bag of stolen loot or something.
He is not the criminal in this video. |
Of course the Fox News idiots likely have that view, but they are in the minority. The problem with BLM is they have little credibility because they don't care about actual evidence. Not only that, but they know nothing about use of force, tactics and police procedure. All they know is that they saw a video and they are pissed off. The conflict between law enforcement and BLM exists because LE and BLM tend to see things in black and white, but a lot of these cherry picked shootings are somewhere in the middle. It's unfortunate that the media uses these shootings to create division and people easily fall for it. |
This is what I saw when I watched that video tape. Those armed men were confronting that guy and they basically executed him in the street. The guy videotaping this whole thing absolutely knew that something was about to happen. It was a total trap. I don't know if the guy was stealing stuff from construction sites or not. I don't know if he had trespassed on home building sites. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. But it is very clear that he was not the aggressor in this situation. They stopped him and they shot him. |

There is now video evidence of Mr. Arbery’s time inside the construction site that is under review by the GBI. A very short clip can be seen here. https://www.news4jax.com/news/georgia/2020/05/09/gbi-reviewing-additional-video-in-case-of-ahmaud-arbery/
Regardless of what Mr. Arbery was doing there, it is very clear that this is a construction site. It is not uncommon at all for people (because we are nosey) yo venture into construction sites. In fact while my home was under construction people did it all the time, my neighbor (who is a realtor) used it as an opportunity to garner clients. What is actually especially telling is a lesser known case that happened earlier this week where a former NBA player was arrested and charged with aggravated assault when he detained and shot at (no injuries were reported) two individuals who trespassed onto his property and entered his home. That story can be found here. https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/former-laker-shannon-brown-arrested-after-allegedly-firing-rifle-at-couple-after-misunderstanding-in-his-home/ This also happened in Georgia, yet he was immediately arrested and charged when these other two men where not. It’s rare that two so strikingly similar incidents happen so close together. It’s hard not to see why people are so outraged. Black people in this country are chronically under suspicion for any and everything and more often than not, white people are given the benefit it of the doubt. This is America, this is racist, and this is just part of what needs to change. |
Be quiet. Just go sit down and stop trying to downplay police violence People’s actual real life experience by blaming it in the media. The media is report I g what is happening , you don’t have to like it. |
Even if he committed a crime, he deserved a trial. Who did those stupid cowards think they were, chasing him down in a truck and killing him? Some white gods? |
You must be exhausted from the mental gymnastics it took to come up with this crap. |
Eh, I agree with previous PP. This was initially sold to us as "a black man was just working out and shot for no reason by crazy racist whites." The real story is that "crazy (possibly but not definitely racist) white men chased down a suspected intruder with guns instead of letting cops handle it." The race issue comes into play when you look at the actions of the police here, who did NOTHING about this crime. Now, maybe that's because the killers had personal connections to the police. But it's also part of a larger pattern of the lives of blacks not being valued by law enforcement. |
Actually, it is the media who doesn't value black lives. The only time they seem to matter is when someone white is involved. Candace is absolutely right. What about the hundreds of black kids murdered by non-whites every year? |
It isn't just about the police. It's about 3 white men who felt entitled to be judge, jury, and executioners of a black man who did something that I, as a white woman have done countless times without anyone noticing or caring, knowing that people like you would greedily accept their explanation for their crime. |
| I live next door to a new build that was under some form of construction for about 3-4 years. If poking your head into a residential building site was a crime punishable by street execution, half my neighborhood would be dead today. |
