ECNL & DA Nationals Results

Pipeline already funnels some top players to its DA affiliate, Armour, yet still maintains strong, national teams. It has two teams attending the US Soccer National Championship. FCV has strong A teams but does not have national caliber B teams that can compete with ECNL/DA teams.

Bethesda has the potential but has not been able to pull it off. Hell, there A teams aren't even national caliber.

The U17 Pipeline team that is going to USYS nationals is called the “Pipeline 02 Pre-Academy Spirit“ team. https://www.usyouthsoccer.org/tournaments/2019-national-championships/schedule/17u-girls/division-1/. The other is the “Pipeline Spirit Pre-Academy 05 Girls” team. https://www.usyouthsoccer.org/tournaments/2019-national-championships/schedule/14u-girls/division-1/
The names themselves seem to indicate that these are feeder teams to the MD Washington Spirit (now Baltimore Armour) Developmment ACADEMY team.

Last year, 2018 before they were DA, the Arlington 04 team also went to USYS nationals. https://www.usyouthsoccer.org/tournaments/2018-national-championships/schedule/14u-girls/division-1/
This is basically the same Arlington 04 team that played DA this year and is sitting towards the bottom of the DA bracket, along with WS VA. Which may indicate that the Pipeline teams are comparable to the less successful DA teams.

Not affiliated with Pipeline in anyway but have kids ho play travel and have played against Pipeline and other clubs. The reality is that on the girls side, Baltimore Armour's girls is run by Pipeline. The TD and other senior coaches are from Pipeline. Most of the players playing DA are Pipeline players.

With Pipeline running things, the DA will become more Baltimore-centric which will attract more area players who did not pursue DA before due to practice in MoCo and HoCo.

The Arlington comparison is faulty. Arlington played in CCL and was not even a force locally. They never played ECNL teams. Pipleine's teams have played and beaten ECNL teams. The 05 team has even beaten DA teams.

Pipeline is the closest thing to a Super Club and is one of two clubs with a strong enough platform to reach that level.

Wow!!! Pipeline can have PT players just like every DA affiliate.

Yawn. This does not make Pipeline a DA.

You folks are dense. The Pipeline and Baltimore Armour girls DA coaches are one and the same. A majority of the players on DA are Pipeline players at the younger ages.

We all understand how a feeder club works but that still does not make Pipeline a DA.

BRYC is by far the best club. One team per age group, top coaches in Va and no doubt the best players. That defines a Super Club.

LOL, BRYC U13, U14 and U15 teams are 6th, 10th and 5th in ECNL standings in the MidAtlantic division. BRYC U12 team, which will soon start playing in ECNL, is currently ranked No. 13 in VA. The future is bright for BRYC.

There are zero super clubs in our region.

Examples of a super club would be:

HAWKS
STARS
PDA
CASL
TOPHAT
SURF
REAL COLORADO

It's all about geographical dominance via locking down the area. Essentially creating a monopoly. Sucess is a byproduct.

Certainly hard to be a super club when they’re handing out ECNL patches to every Tom, Dick and Harry.

From Baltimore to DC we 10 GDA/ECNL clubs so about 200 “elite” players per age group. Not that many elite players per age group. And don’t forget pipeline! That would make 11 elite teams right pipeline dad.

As I said before, watch Pipeline consolidate Baltimore and the surrounding areas now that it controls the GDA. Baltimore Celtic, Baltimore Union and OPSA will lose players to Pipeline

Again, I agree that Pipeline is not a super club but is closer to the definition than any club in the Richmond to Baltimore region.

Or DA patches like Metro United, Arlington, Long Island, Albertson, PA Classics. NYSC, every single Florida team. I could go on but you get my point.
