Want to wait on the waitlist for Cap City. How will I know if my number will be called before I enroll at Shepherd (by May 1). If I enroll that means I give up my spot at Cap City, right?

Are you IB are Shepherd. Curious why you’d prefer CC?

From MySchoolDC:

“If I am matched at a school through the lottery, what do I do next?

If you were matched with a school through the lottery, you must accept your space by May 1, 2019. Accepting your space requires submitting required enrollment forms, including the My School DC Seat Acceptance Form, school-specific forms, and proving DC residency in person, at the school. Please note that accepting your match will NOT remove you from any waitlists, or prevent you from enrolling at a school where you are waitlisted should space become available.”

We are waitlisted 11 for SWS for kindergarten. I see they went to 17 offers in October last year (after making 4 offers in May and 6 in August) which seems kind of crazy to me. Why did so many people leave the school for kindergarten?

Doesn't have to be 17 kids leaving. Could have been just 1 or 2 in August, and the first few kids on the waitlist were already enrolled at other schools and their parents didn't want to.move them. So they move through a few kids on the waitlist to get to someone who can accept an offer.

Swami is apparently caught up in the College games, so we're going to have to help each other until .....

For this list, I say "no". You won't get anywhere. Possibly try your neighborhood school? Looks like you're in NE. Maybe try Langdon, Bunker Hill or Burroughs???

Langley and Seaton are both reasonably accessible via the 80-bus or G8, and both are not too hard to get into for PK4.

I wouldn't count out Mundo 8th. I think they're going to burn through their list pretty quickly.

We must have pulled a much better number than last year, as we are in the double digits! PK4 waitlist:

Inspired Teaching #25
Lee Montessori #20
Creative Minds #14
Mundo Verde 8th st - Match

Any chance of movement, or should we count ourselves lucky with the MV match?

Haha! I'll join in. I say stay with Mundo. I doubt it will be that much movement at Lee. Maybe IT but consider yourself lucky and get ready for the bumps of new school logistics.

Not Swami but you'll definitely get in. K lists move a lot in general. The question is whether you'll accept.

Actually Cap City is better shot. They made 39 offers for 2nd, ITS only made 30. Do people just guess on these or are you actually using any data for your guesses?
