No open spots at aftercare or NO aftercare at the school?

No open spots. BH only has aftercare for PreK and those are all filled.

Try adding Langley. They have an aftercare vendor so there is guaranteed room for everyone.

I'm #43 on the list for Langley, so it's not likely we will get a seat there.

Anonymous wrote:51 for SSMA PreK 3. Any hope?

Could happen, they sure do burn through their list.

51 now? I dunno. I suggest you focus on your other options, whatever they are.

Just dropped to 49 in two days. It'll be interesting to see what happens over the weekend.

In my experience movement happens more during the week than on the weekend.

You might get in but do you want to go? Looks like you are a post-lottery applicant?

Post-lottery applicant. We have a seat at Bunker Hill but there's no aftercare. At this point I'm just hoping for a seat at a school that still has space in their aftercare program.

I don’t understand this. So none of the kids have two working parents? Who takes care of all these kids after 3 pm?

I wonder about that, too; we also got an offer from Langdon but their aftercare was also full.

Seats are allocated based on spring sign-ups. Late joiners have to get a babysitter or have family care. Yes, it sucks. It is free, no sliding scale, for those who get it which is often high-income people. One more great example of DCPS shooting itself in the foot.
