Ok Swami fans, it has been a busy couple months at work, but I'm here for some committed last minute Swamiing, followed by my personal favorite, waitlist movement swamiing.
You provide your child's grade, school list in order, and I make baseless predictions about where your kid will end up for the next school year. -Swami Lives. |
| Can you create an account so we know it is really you? |
I will sign all posts -Swami. Otherwise, I've held off on a DCUM account for eight years, why start now? The Entertainment forum doesn't need to know Swami's opening on Vanderpump Rules. (Swami has one) |
| You have a whole thread that’s pages long that you didn’t respond to. Why don’t you start there? |
DP, but entitled much? Swami clearly wants to start fresh. |
|
I don't Swami until lists lock. Are there ones there from March 15 and on?

I'll play!
Current school: Our IB in the Brookland-ish area. 1st grade: Mundo P St Yu Ying Stokes Spanish Stokes French PK3 sibling: Mundo P St Yu Ying Stokes Spanish Stokes French Our IB. |

Swami, it's my first time! Pick me!
PK3: Yu Ying Stokes Spanish Mundo Verde on P St Mundo Verde the new one on 8th St Lee Montessori Two Rivers 4th Inspired Teaching Seaton Garrison Langley Walker-Jones (our boundary school) |
You are wishing that you wrote a letter or email of support for MV 8th Street, and will be kicking yourself even more as your 1st grader edges perilously close to the top of the P street list. You'll end up where you are, and try to catch the edge of the Spring market to move inbounds for a house you can't really afford in Oyster boundary. |
Sorry, forgot to sign -Swami |
Sigh. I think we'll take another year's try at the lottery before we truly consider moving. I do like our IB, and both kids in one place is so appealing. And the DCI guarantee being a big part of Mundo's appeal, I was actually relieved that 8th St. isn't offering 1st grade. |
| I didn't lottery. Will I regret it? Rising 1st grader at a charter school. |
With the exception of one school, You won't. You'll discover your school is the anomaly that gets better as the kids get older. You will donate a share in the CSA to celebrate. -Swami |

Swami, here is my list for PK3, please consider it!
Two Rivers 4th Inspired Teaching Lee Montessori Seaton Shining Stars Langley (IB) |
Swami welcomes you, kind of neighbor (oooooh, a Swami clue!) You will get into Shining Stars on Friday (or tomorrow, around 10:07pm, but really really hesitate). Your number will be in the 30s or 40s at Lee, and 50s-60s at TR4 and ITS. You will get a Lee offer just shy of count day, and jump, quizzically, on the Montessori bandwagon. You will, however, wonder until December why your child only seems to be washing tables and folding laundry at school |
