I finally got a chance to watch ‘20s’ and I have a lot to say; in no order:
-am I remembering that Kate told Toby she was a virgin? -loved Tess’s name. The fan was Tessana...so is she Tess with the middle name Anna? -about the previous episode, I also thought it was a stretch for Sophie to be MC for the gala. Hospitals usually have loads of admin and execs who love to do that stuff. But whatever. Maybe they chose a nurse to mc this year. -for me the twist was finding out Kate’s sitting in the car was...located at the old house. Pretty sad. -for those with Qs about their age: I don’t know why someone above thought it was definitely 2008. It was 8 years after jack’s death, and since they were 16/17 at his death, that makes them 24/25. -I miss jack in the modern-day scenes too. But cool to see how they showed the idea that jack is sort of always with Rebecca, and in her memories—as in the scene at the hospital nursery. Future: Do we all think Kate will have a boy and name him Jack? Since Randall didn’t get to use it? |
I don't think Sophie was the MC, I think each person just got to run the auction/introduction for the items they recruited for the event. |
Did anyone else notice how warm Rebecca and Beth seemed to be with each other at Beth and Randall’s house? In the present day episodes, it seems like Beth isn’t fond of Rebecca so I wonder what changed. |
I think it is pretty clear it is 2008 with the Obama/Biden yard signs, pins and magnets. It is also consistent with what Beth told William that 8 years before when she was pregnant with Tess. She also told William that Randall was vying for partner when he had his breakdown, so 28 years old is a much better fit than 24/25. That conversation was in 2016. I think that Jack has been dead for more than 8 years, more like 10-11. We only know that Miguel and Rebecca haven't been in contact for 8 years, probably because he moved around then to Houston. |
They said it was 2008. |
I was pp. you are right about ‘08. I remember the Obama’s Biden stickers but forgot by the end of the episode. |
Another clue here -- If Kate is sitting in front of the burned down house, it definitely has something major to do with Jack's death (there has been speculation that it was a separate incident and not that related). |
The words Kevin said were, ‘the place you were when he left.’ (Doesn’t negate what you have said). So could be she was outside the house (watching it burn), or inside the house (he saved her and he died). Maybe? |
I'm still watching and I'm still liking. I know it's not as compelling as Season 1, but how could it be, really? I'm still liking the story line. It's hard to like Kevin, though. And Kate... what is her job right now? What does she do for a living? |
The kids were born in 1980. They were 28 in 2008. They just turned 37 at the beginning of this season. Jack died circa 1987, when the kids were 17. |
*circa 1997 is when Jack died. |
I doubt that Tess’ middle name is Anna, since the second daughter is named Annie. |
That baby looked exactly like Annie! |
Right. He would died when they were still in high school because didn't Kevin still have a broken leg when he died? And he broke it playing high school football. |
Yes, they hammered the viewers over the head with the Obama/Biden signs. In the yard, as well as three on the fridge. We get it! ![]() |
