There’s a logical fallacy there. Teachers and coaches get CAUGHT more, because there are more safeguards in place to identify and stop the behaviors. Also, it’s newsworthy when it happens because of the breach of public trust. News organizations are not reporting about the stepparents and older siblings and family friends who sexually abuse children. They are much less likely to be caught, and when they are, details are less likely to be released to the public. A |
Here's the latest from Asra's X account. TLDR: Teacher contacted school officials 7x to report Social Worker taking students to abortion clinic, and was then reprimanded. Principal Chad is on audio. The investigative reporter is not Asra, but does have all the receipts. Search Asra on X for more info:
"Meet teacher and whistleblower Zenaida Perez. Born in Cuba, she has been teaching English as a second language for 20+ years, many of her students young Hispanic immigrants. A native speaker of Spanish, she builds strong bonds with her students. Last week, she went public with allegations that a social worker at Centreville HS in Clifton, Va., facilitated and funded an abortion in the fall of 2021 for a 17-year-old girl from Guatemala -- without her legal guardian's knowledge. The next day, @FCPSNews @FCPSSupt Michelle Reid claimed the school district had just learned of the allegations the day before. Read the young woman's witness for yourself in a @FoxNews exclusive, I write about how Ms. Perez torched Superintendent Reid's claim in a 2-hour, 45-minute interview with a school board lawyer, Mary McGowan yesterday. Ms. Perez documented how she warned school district officials 7 times over 3 years, dating back to May 2022. Here is audio from a November 2022 meeting Ms. Perez had with her then-school principal Chad Lehman, whom staffers nicknamed “Lord Farquaad,” the tyrannical ruler and villain in the children’s movie, “Shrek.” You can hear him acknowledging her concerns about coerced abortions. You decide: did school officials learn about the allegations just last week as Superintendent Reid claims or have they known since 2022? Ms. Perez told the school board attorney that school district officials are "covering up" the abortion scandal. Listen to Ms. Perez's story in the 🧵and see the retaliation she has faced ever since she came forward as a whistleblower. 🔗 Read the story here: https://foxnews.com/us/public-school-teacher-reveals-years-long-effort-expose-alleged-student-abortion-scandal " |
SEVEN TIMES and they did nothing?! |
There are counselors and teachers who brainwash kids in order to abuse them. |
DP. You clearly have mental issues. If indeed, a staff member drove a student to get an abortion - without notifying her parents, Health Dept, etc. - then that person was far beyond simply "out of line". I hope they're fired. And the fact that you support their actions speaks volumes about you. As I said earlier, provide your kid's address and we'll swing by and take her for a medical appointment / abortion without notifying you. Since you wouldn't have a problem with it. |
+1 I've got to think those defending these allegations are trolls. No one could actually be that stupid. Could they? |
Yes. There are people who will defend the schools at any cost. |
+100 Please report the troll who continues to spam this thread with her usual insane posts that make no sense and have nothing to do with this particular case. |
Besides Asra being a liar and a paid tool for the far right, this recent report is interesting outside of the name-calling and lies. It seems that every time Ms. Perez was called into the principal's office for some misdeed, she tried to muddy the waters with a year old story that had very little substantiation. There is no evidence besides Ms. Perez's allegations that any of this happened. Even the letter from the former student is suspect, because it could have been written under duress or not even written by the student in question. The truth will come out, but Asra Nomani is not the one to deliver it. Ever. |
Can you clarify that statement? |
Every thread where Asra appears you feel the need to bash her. Please go away. I appreciate Asra's journalism and if anything she is progressive and a great example and role model of a feminist Muslim woman. Take your grudges and obsessions and go crawl back under your bridge to stew. |
Okay, then. Please tell us what happened. Maybe if other media outlets would investigate, we could learn something. I take Asra's story with a grain of salt--but, I usually learn something that is accurate. She interviewed the teacher and she gave some details. We have yet to hear the other side. I do know this: the school should not be involved other than to encourage the girl to talk to her guardian. If the girl does not want to do this, the school should connect her with the county Health Department. If the girl gets the abortion with the help of the Health Department, the school can be supportive of her and try to help her AFTERWARDS as she pursues her education. That is the school's job. |
It’s Asra. Credibility immediately evaporates. |
Deflection. |
