So what, the staff member just helped them make an appointment somewhere? Unless they were wielding a coat hanger or forging documents, this seems like a nothing burger. The healthcare providers are the ones bound by whatever the law on parental disclosure is.
It is laughable to pretend you wouldn't be furious if a staff member "just helped" your daughter make an appointment for an abortion - regardless of your views on abortion. Stop the deliberately obtuse act.
I'd be wondering how I had failed as a parent that my daughter felt she couldn't come to me. Not furious at the person who helped her.
Please. Of course you'd be furious. Otherwise, how about you give us your daughter's information, and we'll handle her medical appointments.
Not all of us believe our daughters are breedslaves for our husbands.
Jesus, lady. I'm pro-choice. Even so, I don't need school staff deciding that my daughter should get an abortion. You sound utterly deranged.
Deciding? JFC. Supporting a girl through a tough period isn’t forcing a decision on them.
It is not the school's job. Supporting would be contacting the county Health Department. Schools should not be in the abortion business--or the transition business.
Reading, writing, and arithmetic have dropped far down the FCPS priority list.
Fake news. Supporting kids means they are better able to learn.
DP. You clearly have mental issues. If indeed, a staff member drove a student to get an abortion - without notifying her parents, Health Dept, etc. - then that person was far beyond simply "out of line". I hope they're fired. And the fact that you support their actions speaks volumes about you. As I said earlier, provide your kid's address and we'll swing by and take her for a medical appointment / abortion without notifying you. Since you wouldn't have a problem with it.
