We were just told the optional EDGE training would only be $220 for 11 sessions. Which is a great value over the other training options in this area, which run closer to $40 per session. And it is optional, except for the 1st teams U13-U19... which to be honest, is a great deal for year round prioritized team indoor training space.

Secondly, 'getting rid of the other sports' is a complete mischaracterization. That is not the same as dividing SYC into SYC Soccer and SYC All other sports, it would be easier to manage if that were the case. No one wants to remove options for kids playing sports, it's just becoming an organizational management problem.

My DS is 1st team so it’s “mandatory.” They angered a bunch of 1st team parents.

Was told 1st team (MLS & GA) trains 4 days a week. and often 1 if the 4 training day gets cancelled, especially on the boys side. At best there are 3 training days, now 1 of those days is EDGE for an additional cost. The first team club fee for MLS and GA is already higher than the lower team. that's a switch and bait when i see it.

MLSN parent. Doesn’t the league have requirements for amount of hours they have to train each week? If your club is violating that why not report them to MLS?

And for SYC, if they left, it would probably result in exactly what happened with St James. The latest episode is just the cancer moving from just affecting soccer to affecting the whole club. The bottom falls out on the club at some point, either under the weight of ridiculous salaries/fees or governance stepping in a cutting the cord at a very steep price.

Depends on the team and coach. Club fees are about $3000. Some teams have as low as $500-700 team fees. Others have $1000+. Then they tried to add another $1000 on top. So who knows really? $5000 in club and team fees for the year?

You also really don't know what the team fees are in the beginning of the year, some teams are pay as you go and they bill you for Coach travel and accommodations prior to each game or event that are further away.

It’s not hours I don’t think. The standards set out how many days of training. I think up to U14 it’s three days and U15 and older is four days

It’s not hours I don’t think. The standards set out how many days of training. I think up to U14 it’s three days and U15 and older is four days

U13 must train a minimum of 3 times per week

U14 & up must train a minimum of 4 times per week
