Hayfield Football Coach Fired

How nice that your sons were able to play on the team before it got coopted by these sleazebags. I am surprised you are not more sympathetic towards the real Hayfield players.

If they actually lived outside of the boundaries and that made them not eligible, they could have just transferred to the school they were zoned to and played.

There’s been a lot of assumptions of the worst, slanderous lies against the coach, and jealousy of Hayfields success. You people bad mouthing Hayfields football program ought to be ashamed of yourselves.

Let’s just appreciate the talented football team we are witnessing and wish them well. Let’s also wish Madison, Battlefield, John Champe, Washington and Liberty, and all the other local schools that are having success this year.

Let’s be more positive and get rid of all the hate.

No, they couldn't just transfer back in Sept. Thats not how eligibility works.

Yes they could!

Once you are deemed ineligible, you are ineligible to play anywhere in the state until whatever issue is resolved.

No one is jealous of a bunch of cheaters, drug addicts and hangers-on. We feel sorry for the kids, having their cheating parents and cheating coaches as role models. Any wins have asterisks.

Where are the asterisks? I don’t see them in the Washington Post, the Connection, the Virginia Pilot, the Northern Virginia Daily, Max Preps, or anywhere listing Hayfields schedule or record.

The only asterisks are the ones in your jealous mind and other people hating on the program.

That’s if someone has been suspended or penalized. None of that was said to have happened.

It must be miserable to have such negativity

… but they didn’t. Which means their ineligibility wasn’t residency based. It was grade based or something else.

No need to be so defensive, Coach. Clearly, you don't care that everyone is laughing at you as a pathetic little man who is afraid to coach an "organic" team. Everyone knows you are a cheater. You are a laughingstock and a punchline for real men and real coaches. "Hayfield football" is now a synonym for cheating. No one is jealous, we are cringing in second hand embarrassment over your shameful antics. But good for you for not caring what anyone else thinks!

You have to have passed 5 classes last school year. It would be surprising for 9 kids to all have failed so many classes last year, though.

So if you are ineligible because you don’t live in the zoning area, you are eligible when you move within the correct boundaries. It’s that simple.

Just shame a man for being successful and you will be able to make him think he’d be better off if he weren’t experiencing such success. Do you think Overton will go for that?

So those 9 kids tried to cheat and got caught.

Other families did a better job fooling VHSL with their cheating. There is a player who lives in Arlington and one who lives in Fredericksburg.

He's not successful. He cheats.

Winning a championship with an "organic" team would be successful.

aren't you getting paid to work full time as a security employee at the school? Why are you posting when you should be supervising arrivals?

Passing is a D-. That's not a very high bar. Yikes. How are these kids going to be recruited by colleges if they can't pass basic high school classes.
