How many kids claimed they were homeless?

No official from VHSL said any kids were ineligible. Stop making up the lies.

Um. We all know there were *many* players kicked off the team roster by vhsl an hour after the superintendent held a meeting insisting everything was legit.

Two of the ineligible players were college commits all over social media.

School itself confirmed to press that kids were pulled from roster before 1st game.

“… a red flag went up on some of the student transfers that the school was attempting to put on its “Master Eligibility List.” …hours before the school’s season opener against West Springfield High School, Hayfield staffers started notifying some of the transfers that they were ineligible to play football this season, beginning with that night’s game. … school officials confirmed to the Fairfax County Times that as many as nine of 15 players who transferred to the school to play for Overton didn’t meet residency or eligibility requirements.”

Why keep talking about kids that didn’t even make the final roster?

They made the roster, they were part of Overton's traveling circus. It sounds like 2 of the 9 managed to
somehow fix whatever made them ineligible, the rest are just lurking on the sidelines in street clothes (against vhsl rules).

So they are on the current roster?

Two are NOW eligible (onejust played his first game this week). The rest are just lurking around regretting following the pied piper of a coach.

Who knows! Seems to change from week to week with this crew of con artists and cheats. Kids would have been better off attending school where they live so they could play.

If they actually lived outside of the boundaries and that made them not eligible, they could have just transferred to the school they were zoned to and played.

There’s been a lot of assumptions of the worst, slanderous lies against the coach, and jealousy of Hayfields success. You people bad mouthing Hayfields football program ought to be ashamed of yourselves.

Let’s just appreciate the talented football team we are witnessing and wish them well. Let’s also wish Madison, Battlefield, John Champe, Washington and Liberty, and all the other local schools that are having success this year.

Let’s be more positive and get rid of all the hate.

No, they couldn't just transfer back in Sept. Thats not how eligibility works.

No one is jealous of a bunch of cheaters, drug addicts and hangers-on. We feel sorry for the kids, having their cheating parents and cheating coaches as role models. Any wins have asterisks.

I'm a former Hayfield parent. Now we are empty nesters but we live across the street. Our 4th and last graduated this past spring. We have been going to the home games. We enjoy watching the team. Two of our sons played football there. It brings back memories and allows us to see families we know.

Thanks for sharing. I have a feeling the new coach and athletic director aim to build a powerhouse program, and Hayfield has a dedicated cohort of 7th and 8th graders to assist in that endeavour. Best of luck to them. They’ll outlast the criticism (deserved or not) if ticket sales for the games remain high.
