Its awkward all these people centering themselves in what is supposedly going on with Kate. Your experience as an American commoner is NOTHING like Kate's. Their world is smoke and mirrors, very hands off parenting except for photo ops, training the heir apparent, and preserving the monarchy. Not about spending quality time with family.

Her parents were more middle class before their Party Pieces business took off. Her childhood home was pretty small compared to the best of DCUM.

One of the reasons the royals are marrying commoners is because they are more emotionally normal/have warmer family relations with at least some family members and often are very good at parenting because they were raised by hands-on parents. E.g., Diana and her siblings (her parents had some issues), Meghan and Doria, the whole Middleton family seems pretty tight, Prince Edward's wife Sophie, Queen Mary of Denmark (the Aussie).

Most European homes are comparatively small.

PP. My point is a statement was made that American people didn't understand how royalty lives and that they don't really parent, etc. And my point was that this is not true of how the commoners who marry royal were raised.

I understand that European homes can be smaller. However, check out the link. It says Princess Catherine lived in a 2BR home as a child. Not a lot of opportunity to be distant from parents in that kind of setup, lol.

This is precisely why British snobs made a lot of fun of the Middle-ton name. They even have coal miners in their family tree (as do my kids).

In her video announcing her diagnosis she looked completely fine and supposedly had already started chemo. But now she’s bald and physically decimated behind the scenes? I agree she doesn’t owe the public an appearance but I do think she does owe them silence rather than misinformation i

I didn’t think she looked completely fine in the video. She looked very thin and like she had lost weight.

If you all think that video was legit/filmed in that time period you're nuts.

That vid has been confirmed as altered at least. The world just backed off
commenting because of the subject and subject matter.

Yep. We also stopped discussing the farmstand video where she was galloping around looking 15 years younger and like she was having the best day of her life. What even was that?

It’s her body double. Search on that Reddit forum. It’s someone KP uses regularly as her body double.

Birth family is an odd distinction to make . Camilla is by Charles side during his battle with cancer. Where is William?

His excuse this time for not working is the care of the three kids even though no convoys from Kensington Palace were ever spotted driving in the last few months to the kids’ school and/or activities. He’s living alone there

Yes, exactly. If William is not with his sick father or sick wife, but is taking time off… What the hell is he doing?

He’s at FA Cup with his heir.

This picture reminds me of Kim Jung Un at a North Korean rally.

Weird that this is the only child of theirs that has been seen publicly since December

Also the hurt belongs to the monarchy and not up the parents….given W & C are living apart, maybe George is living with W at Anmer/KP?

Catherine is said to be living at Adelaide cottage (and has been since the separation last fall before all of this)….

I thought they were marrying commoners because the nobles are all inbred.

Nope, did not stop them for 1,000s of years. What happened was love marriages became acceptable. And parents had to tolerate it. Because the risks to continuing the monarchy was too great. Look at BRF and the Wallis Simpson debacle and the Charles and Diana debacle. It's become clear that if you don't let people choose their spouse, they will either bail or create a big scandal. The Western "me first" culture doesn't work well with arranged marriages anymore.

You’re talking about the video filmed by the BBC? Who confirmed it was altered exactly?

What vid was filmed by BBC?

The video in which Kate gave her diagnosis was filmed by BBC Studios and released by Kensington Palace.

This video was almost certainly manipulated with AI but may have been limited to the bench/background was fake. Anything more has not been proven as far I’m aware.

It’s also super weird that you want to discount other PP’s experiences while pushing that you alone know exactly what Kate’s life is all about. Maybe go take a walk and touch some grass.

You’re not getting that these PP’s experiences have absolutely nothing to do with Kate. Odds are she never had cancer at all. The Royal family has botched this situation completely.

There was apparently a big falling out because they (William, Charles) want to send George to boarding school and Kate was not happy with that. But due to the lines of succession and all that goes along with it, the king and William can do whatever the heck they want with George and his schooling. George is also probably the only one old enough to keep his mouth shut and has gone through formal royal training, he se why he (and roses children) have been seen in public with William. Can you imagine if the kids were asked about the mother in public?

There's no evidence of that:

"Online conspiracists have seized on the video, despite Catherine’s plea for privacy; most artificial intelligence experts say it shows no evidence of manipulation"

"BBC Studios, a TV production arm of the BBC, has confirmed that it filmed the video of Catherine’s message last week at Windsor Castle, and Kensington Palace told The Washington Post that accusations of AI tampering are “factually inaccurate.” Multiple deepfake forensics experts agreed, saying they examined the video and found no signs of AI manipulation.

“All of these armchair forensic analysts out there that are claiming that they find evidence of AI manipulation, it’s a spectacular combination of ignorance and arrogance,” said Hany Farid, a professor at the University of California at Berkeley who specializes in analyzing digital images. Farid said he reviewed the video and found “absolutely zero evidence” that AI was involved."

Hair loss does not start until a couple of weeks in. She has just started treatment at that time. And nobody said she was physically decimated - I wasn’t during chemo - but I was bald and while my wig worked okay for me in public, it wouldn’t cut it for a princess whose appearance is a big part of her brand.

If willing to spend the money, she could get a wig and we would not know it. I don’t think hair loss is the problem. And I’m sure the doctors knew when they operated and saw it that she had cancer. Whatever she had done was very serious. Heart operations don’t usually require a two stay, maybe a week,

How long does it take to grow shoulder length hair back?

Not all chemo causes hair loss, especially if it’s “preventive”.

If I were kate and they insisted my kid be sent to boarding school, I'd be living right near the school to see him as much as possible or getting him every weekend. The boarding school thing is silly. They have nannies.

Where is she?? Where are the other kids?

Why is William out all the time??! Lots of sporting events. And that article about his drinking?
