You would have been such a Good German, PP. |
No one is saying trans adults shouldn't transition but to pretend it comes without risk is naive and medically incorrect. You can educate yourself and read about dementia and transgender people if you think it is just a made up story. Here is one article discussing dementia care for transgender patients.... "As dementia progresses a person may not recall their current gender and they may see themselves being pre-transition and be surprised at the physical changes to their bodies. This can result in them becoming very disorientated and anxious. They may not understand why they are being referred to as being a certain gender as they cannot recall publicly voicing this preference." https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-wales-43365446 |
NP. You’re very sneaky and disingenuous. As the public profit assessments that hospitals have conducted indicate, incredible sums are being made from administering unnecessary medications and performing unnecessary procedures on alleged “trans” youths and the projections are sky high. You know full well that hospitals and doctors cannot be trusted to self-regulate—indeed, no profession can be trusted to self-regulate—whenever their profits conflict with their judgment. We learned this during the opioid epidemic, which doctors created, we learned this during the thalidomide scandal, and we learned this through countless tragic examples before. Moreover, the only reason people like you advocate for doctors to be left as sole decision makers here is because you know that transgender billionaires like Pritzker and Martina Rothblatt and powerful lobby groups like GLAAD and HRC have spent tens of millions to capture American medical organizations. That is why American medical organizations continue to parrot the false talking point that “gender, affirming” medicine is proven and safe when every other medical body on every other continent pumps the brakes as soon as they examine the nonexistent literature and realize a fraud is being perpetrated. You have confidence in the culture of fear and silence your cronies have created in the American medical establishment, such that hardly any American doctor dares speak up against this unfolding scandal of administering unnecessary medicine and surgeries to youths on demand. To say that American doctors should be left as a sole decision makers here is to say that the activist who are steering the ship are to be left as sole decision makers. Nope. Never. Ever. Thankfully, more and more states are seeing through your sham arguments. You can scream genocide all you want, but your grift is at an end. |
Anyone who has watched "I am Jazz" whiich is very supportive of transitioning of young people, will see that it comes with extremely serious physical risks. I've always been skeptical, but tolerant of this. I am no longer tolerant of this with minors. Adults can do as they please. |
Yeah, that’s what we need: one more person who thinks their poorly informed opinion matters more than those with knowledge of how it all works. |
I would prefer that our government, which is representative of all the people, including those who know what barbarism and pseudoscience all of this is, take a stand for moral leadership. Absolutely. That is the purpose of our government from its founding. It's not supposed to be just the mouth of "the people." It is supposed to be a deliberative base of educated people who lead by moral framework. That is how this country has risen to the height that it has, and our current decline is the direct result of the loss of that standard. |
This is an extremely important point (bolded). |
Why are someone else’s medical decisions “public policy?” |
Yeah, that's what we need: one more person who keeps her head down in the face of evil, greed and corruption that is literally tearing apart the fabric of our society and ruining thousands of children's lives, all because "I don't care." |
I’m not responsible for your education. If you have difficulty grasping the concept of a democratic society, then you better go back to school. |
It sure is. |
Honestly, I'm not sure why conservatives have decided on "trans children" as their hill to die on this year, it's a miniscule portion of the population. Most people honestly don't care, unless they are evangelicals. |
If you believe it's a "minuscule" portion of the population, you haven't set foot in a MS or HS in 10 years. Tell me you don't have kids without telling me you don't have kids. |
A better question is why transgender lobby decided that kids are the hill to die on. Their whole movement is going to die on this hill, and yet they won’t stop. Almost as if it was always about getting to the kids. |
NP. I won’t ever be impacted by prison policies. I do not know anyone affected by prison policies. But I came to my current position that gender ideology is at heart an ideology rooted in misogyny because I was doing work on expungement, asylum, and immigrant rights as a volunteer. I have spent years working to help people who are impacted by policies that will never impact me. I get that you don’t care about people other than your immediate family, but we aren’t all like that. In the course of that work, I started to hear stories years ago. Women being assaulted, women being hurt, but the prison system and the immigrant detention system standing firmly with the rapists. I mean, that’s not unusual for the prison/immigration system—I can tell you horror stories about abuse of inmates/refugees that have nothing to do with trans ideology—but what was different here was the extent to which the prison system protected the trans women in women’s prison. Women weren’t just prevented from telling their stories, they experienced the additional and new horror of being told that sharing their stories of assault and rape was transphobic. They are victimized even further than they have been in the past. And the media, typically happy to report on stories of prison abuse, won’t touch their stories. They are alone in the system, with the safety of their rapists and assaulters protected above their own. I’ve traditionally been liberal. I mean, I have spent years working on very liberal causes as a volunteer. But I can’t call myself a liberal any more because of the sharp dive into misogyny that liberals have taken. I am of course not conservative. But as a woman who has spent years trying to make the world a better place for vulnerable people, especially women, it’s clear to me I don’t have a home with liberals any more. Hatred of women is now the political rule of the day for both major political parties. I am politically homeless. But I get it, you don’t care because it doesn’t affect you. |
