Trump overruled the military and decided unilaterally on his way out the door to put it in Alabama to punish Colorado for voting out all of its Republicans, to reward Mo Brooks whose district it was, and get the rest of the Alabama Republicans on his side in the January 6 impeachment.

Yes, fully aware. But that it also makes sense for space and air command to be in the same location. Huntsville makes some sense, Colorado makes more sense. It wasn't politics that drove this decision, though the optics against Tuberville are sort of humorous.
