"Anti-war" is a phrase Republicans/MAGA are using instead of "pro-Putin" / "pro-fascist." They are "anti" supporting Ukraine's war efforts to defend itself against Putin/Russian invaders. Being a Putin toady is an article of faith among Trump/MAGAs. But, don't worry, they love "freedom"! |
This crossed my mind. Anyone recall the Navy ship that blew up? They tried to blame a group of young kids, stating they were trying to commit suicide and take others down with them? Parents squawked, Senators got involved and forced an investigation. Turned out there was something really wrong with the gun powder the Navy had purchased. The poor kids were killed by bad gun powder, and higher ups tried to cover their asses by blaming blameless young boys. |
Uhm maybe mom wants the protection that comes with being a known entity. If the kid remained anonymous and never said anything to anyone, it would be a lot easier to manipulate him further, if people wanted to. That’s my take anyway. I think it was smart. |
This guy left 3 years' worth of digital footprints, with witnesses, but don't let that stop your paranoid fantasies. No wonder you guys fall for that Qanon stuff. |
| Is the military ever embarrassed by all the issues in that organization? Both the leak and even having this guy in their service? |
Every organization has issues. |
His name was Lucca he lived on the second floor |
According to the latest WaPp, his stepdad was a just retired Master Sergeant in the same unit. Should also mention that WaPo should be ashamed of itself for trying to take credit for breaking the story. At least the NYT gave the person who broke it a byline. |
| Can someone explain to me how a 21-year old has access to this kind of trove of highly secret documents? |
It's the norm in the military. He's old enough to drink, too. |
It’s definitely not the norm. Most enlisted don’t even have a clearance. |
Most enlisted don't need clearance. It is the norm for those who do. |
Not with what he said to WaPo. Even the journalists writing the article expressed surprise. If the mother was smart, she'd have hired a lawyer, who would have most likely told the kid to shut up, or possibly coached the kid through his interview (very unlikely). |
Well a couple of things. 1) We were told that there are no troops on the ground 2) The War Powers Resolution requires the president to notify Congress within 48 hours of committing armed forces to military action and forbids armed forces from remaining for more than 60 days, with a further 30-day withdrawal period, without congressional authorization for use of military force (AUMF) or a declaration of war by the United States. 3) This is what we did in vietnam as advisors/trainers which lead to actual war 4) This means we are actually at war, and Russia can go after us in any way they want |
What do you mean? WaPo interviewed one of the minors in the original Discord server. It's an exclusive. The interviewee is not named as a courtesy because he wishes not to be. That article appeared this morning, before the NYT's identification of the suspect. WaPo did indeed break a story. The NYT broke another. |
