Is this your passive aggressive way to bash next level?

Mission accomplished.

Next Level has won 1 game by 1 goal. They will leave NGLL with 2 wins on the season. The fact is they aren't a good team

Yes, NL had a very bad year. However, Stars will likely not fair much better. They will be blown out by MDU, Skywalkers and Pride. Neither NL nor Stars should be in A.

Stars and Pride always have competitive games, and that is likely to happen again this year. Stars is as deserving as Pride to be playing in the A division.

Sincerely,
A Pride Parent

Dear Stars Parent: you lost to NL last year. You beat Hero’s White by 1 goal that NL easily beat in a scrimmage earlier this year. You have not played the hard part of your schedule yet. You and NL are not good by A standards. You are virtually the same team. Pride is on another level - especially this year. They are the best in the DMV by a mile and the scores prove that. Stars has some nice players, but they will leave soon.

Dear Pride parent

Worry less about what NL and Stars are doing. When Pride is competitive and beats the top level teams, you can come on here and brag.

Capital will be rostered mostly with Pride players. Stars may send a couple. Zero from NL.

Pride parents are comedians.

There’s a NL middie that is definitely making Capital.

I seriously doubt Pride parents are responsible for the troll posts on this forum. Capital is not going to be "mostly" rostered with Pride girls - there are just not that many Capital-level players on that team. As you'd expect, Capital will be end up being a combination of local girls from Pride, Stars, NL, BLC, YJ, 3D, etc. Nothing is given at this point and, if Capital is the goal, the focus should be on skills development over the next couple of years and making the most of playing against top level teams. Whether there are wins or losses against the top teams is immaterial.

Pride 2028 has beaten many a top club, while just year we beat check-hers and Ho-Co. I tell you after that Check-hers victory our entire street was filled with electricity. The mayor of Vienna wanted to give the girls the keys to the city. As parents we thought it was a bit too much and wanted to get the girls refocused because they had a big game with BLC the following week.

Wow. An absolutely rational post on this thread. Never thought I would see the day.

Agreed. To add to this point "Nothing is given at this point and, if Capital is the goal, the focus should be on skills development over the next couple of years and making the most of playing against top-level teams. Whether there are wins or losses against the top teams is immaterial.", being on the other side of the middle school/high school jump, I can confidently tell you that the earlier you refocus your daughter's efforts on real skill development (not just repeating the same drills and moves their middle school coaches are making them do) and lifting/speed training, the easier the transition to HS lax and HS year club lax will be. As much fun as it is to focus on winning at the middle level, the PP is spot on when they point out that it's immaterial to making a top-level club team (and then recruiting). It's an adjustment for young athletes to move from a short-term goal of winning games, to a long-term goal of prepping themselves for their recruiting years. It's not an easy adjustment psychological adjustment for some players and parents. 2028 girls are at the right age to start the process. Don't wait.

Saying “there just aren’t that many Capital level players on that team” says more about the 2028 class as a whole than it does about Pride specifically. Pride is currently the top middle school team in the area and consistently plays in the highest tournament brackets compared to other area teams. So top to bottom they probably have the strongest roster and will take the biggest chunk of Capital spots. Stars has a group that will take the next chunk of spots and the size of that chunk depends on how many outliers there are from the other virgina and Maryland clubs that come to tryout.

So...any early thoughts on week 3. Looks like NL has a bye week after racing through 6 games of their NGLL schedule.

Both Pride and Stars play FCA who was competitive with them last year.

Pride has a WOG double header with Skywalkers who apparently played #1 Coppermine very tough.

Stars and NL face Skywalkers the following week.

Predictions?

Pride will be well matched with Skywalkers. Cannot say the same for Stars. If Pride loses to Skywalkers, they will likely be out of playoff hunt as it's unlikely they'll beat Coppermine following week.

Agree with this. By all accounts, Skywalkers is much improved this year. Pride is lucky to be playing Skywalkers in the first game of their WOD doubleheader, so tired legs won't be an issue for Pride. Stars is not so lucky, having to play Maryland United in the second game of their WOD doubleheader.

Pride and Stars should easily beat FCA. FCA's best player from last year is on Coppermine now.

Skywalkers will be a tough team and will be good games with Pride and Stars. Skywalkers has new talent, good coaching and will continue to get better, should both be good games. Haven't seen Next Level for a comparison against Skywalkers.

Stars will lose by at least 4 to Skywalkers. Pride should get by Skywalkers.

It's also worth noting that no amount of Healty Baller clinics will guarantee a spot on Capital. This is something that should be obvious to everyone, but is not.
