Everyone does know that. The benefit is having them get to know a player better, especially the good ones. Your point is valid though, plenty of average at best players continue to go with hopes of making the team. |
| Mediocre players also think they’ll make the team because their sister did. Not how it typically works either. |
The numbers are brutal. Over 130 girls tryout for 46 slots. In reality about 80% of the clc b team is already known prior to tryouts. People need to be realistic how good their daughter is and whether making capitol is realistic or not. |

Capital tryouts are 15 months away for 2028s right? Lot of lax, growth, DD interest level, etc. to go through and assess in the interim.
A useful topic after NGLL and tournament season might be the best way to prepare in the offseason for the next year. And always happy to hear the insights of families that have gone through the process. Very helpful. Not sure it's super relevant today, though, and this little Healthy Baller tangent seems a little targeted. |
Stick work, dodging, shooting, speed and agility work, strength training, endurance work. All should be part of off season work. On the PP about over 130 girls trying out for 44 or so spots, that doesnt seem out of the ordinary for a top club but yes some need to understand the chances of making it. |
| Do girls who play on the top MD teams typically stay on those teams or is it common for them to also tryout for Capital? Specifically talking about MDU, M&D, Coppermine, Skywalkers and Hero’s (green). |
As a parent of a DD that plays for one of the older MD teams, I can say it's not typical. I would say if a girl leaves, it typically happens prior to the summer just before high school. Unless the commute is too much, I'm not sure why you'd leave SW, MnD, Heroes A teams... |
Understood. |
You keep all your options open, especially with a proven recruiting track record of Capital. Agree with PP, you'd leave prior to HS if you planned to leave and look at your options. |
Capital is the only HS option worthwhile, so there isn’t a reason to leave before HS |

FCA Is bringing in a special player this weekend who was just added to the roster. I can’t tell you too much about them, but here are a few hints. They have a beard long hair and wears a robe. |
