Stop playing games. Certain people who would gain by ignoring the pandemic intentionally undermined anyone speaking reason. Also the response was never going to be perfect and your bunch of nutjobs used every bit of it to encourage confusion. If that orange stain had not been in office things would not have been so bad.

Agree with that last part. If Trump hadn't been vocal about opening schools, blue cities might not have kept them closed for this long.

What a jerk comment. People were worried for their lives and people expected schools to be daycare. Teachers matter. They were concerned for their own safety and werent trying to get a free vacation as your grifting bunch of friends would do.

How odd that teachers were pretty much the only group that refuses to return. I didn’t see nurses or grocery store employees refusing to go to work- did you?

Please. Go to the Jobs forum and tons of Feds and other office workers are STILL refusing to return and saying they will quit if forced. So GMAFB.

They are not threatening to quit because of COVID. They are office workers who have been doing their jobs effectively from home.

DP. I’m not scared of masks, but they’re terribly uncomfortable (particularly in the summer) and I can’t see when I wear them due to my glasses fogging up. If I want to have any hope of seeing, I need to use thin, single-layer masks without the filters, in which case they’re not doing much anyway. So I do t wear them.

This means that your mask does not fit correctly.

Tell us how to wear them, then. The only success I've had with masks and glasses is literally taping the mask to my skin. I did that for work, but just wear contacts now and use reading glasses when I have to.

I can’t say anything to “us” because mask fit is individual. If you can say what kinds of masks you’ve tried I’d be happy to suggest alternatives with different fit profiles.

Frankly, people are masking more in the DC area than in Italy - I'm talking about the locals and in small towns. And Italy was clearly hit very hard in the beginning. If the Italians can move on from Covid, then we ought to, too.

You suggesting Covid no longer exists? That people don't die from it? That long Covid is not real? That multiple instances of Covid are linked to higher death rates from things like heart attacks? Have you always been a magical thinker, who decides that your own experience is the universal one?

Yes, I am suggesting that Covid no longer exists, in a serious way. The only people who die from it are those who are already close to death, have many health issues, and are not vaccinated.

Hearts attacks exist in my family, as a genetic link due to my ethnicity. Many have died from it, even if do all the right things. I'd rather live my life, enjoy the quality of it, than subscribe to your magical thinking that risk must be avoided at all cost - rather than something to be rationally weighed against all other qualities and factors of life.

Do what you want and need to do for your own health. But as someone's who's healthy, and happy, I'm enjoying my life. It's not yours to live -- it's mine. The same is true vice versa.

I have been home sick for two weeks. My family has only done outdoor stuff and we just tested positive. Either you have good natural immunity or you are pretending you never got it by not testing. To who ever gave this to us, you are a horrible person.

Teachers did not refuse to return. They had no say in the matter. It’s ironic people working at home and not caring if they spread Covid are demanding others work in person to care for their kids.

Many of them found other jobs. Hence the staffing shortages.
