I’m asking because there is absolutely no way she could have an Islamic marriage without the bridegroom being Muslim as well. The rules are extremely clear on this.

If this is true this would make sense why she stuck with Weiner as he may have also sacrificed a lot for her.

Yeah I wondered about that too-I thought you couldn’t have a Muslim interfaith wedding and that a conversion was necessary. But on another note, Weiner is Jewish-was it a big sacrifice to give up pork? That prohibition is common to both faiths.

In the interview I heard she describes Weiner as her first romantic relationship, so there's a whole mess going on there.

I don't think it's because she's attractive.

I think being married to Anthony Weiner is a big part of it, and basically being Gal Friday to Hillary for so many years (bill Clinton officiated her wedding ceremony. They were just very close and I think people assume she knows where the bodies are buried).

She's the living embodiment of the collateral damage from being close to power.

+1 I find her glamorous and fascinating but also a cautionary tale. She was Hillary's heir apparent. She was featured in Vogue. Her wedding dress made her look like a princess. She was set up with her husband by the president, and at the time, Weiner was being compared to Kennedy. They were the most promising political couple in America. And their romance was so American-- he a new york jew, she a Muslim midwestern girl, both making the world their oyster.

Fast forward and it's all a nightmare for her. I still get chills thinking about her standing next to him at the press conference for his first sex issue. She was being both the good wife and the good employee by keeping all her pain inside and making herself small.

This was her mistake. Trying to mirror Hillary when she should have dropped him as soon as she found out.

I don’t think it was necessarily that. He was her first love and she couldn’t have imagined the depth of his mental illness.

Muslim women can only marry a Muslim man. Hence the need for conversion if there is an Islamic marriage contract. A Muslim man can marry a Christian woman or a Jewish woman in an Islamically sanctioned wedding. The funny thing is that all the Muslim men married to Jewish women that I know have Jewish kids since the religion comes from their mothers in their religious and cultural traditions.

No really, it was. I remember seeing the press conference and seeing her stand by her man was so gross. She was on the verge of greatness and gave it all up to support a creep. She’s in politics it’s all about optics, she should have had the smarts to play this out, she made the wrong choice.

I agree with the ny times review, she is not very psychologically minded (which is interesting because I don't think Hillary is either and I say this as a Hillary fan). And she feels compelled to sound good and saintly at times but her book was her attempt to tell it in her way. Though she struggles with knowing herself well...and is a bit of a late bloomer in becoming an independent person. Hopefully she can continue to grow outside of needing to be surrounded and defining herself by other powerful people.

I suspect she struggled with "balance" as she said, because she did not have a strong identity or sense of self and tended to look outside herself. And then hillaryland as she said, of course made looking inside harder in some ways as she was on an intense ride..vicious cycle, and it helps explain her judgment lapse on Weiner perhaps...on a personal level she had some real vulnerabilities/blind spots/naivete. Hopefully she has matured and will continue to grow into herself.

Wow I’ve never heard her speak before. She looks awkward in photos - always hunched over Hillary or leaning toward Weiner - but in this interview I truly get why people say she’s beautiful. She has a grace and confidence about her. I can see her as a tv host if she wanted.

She’s kinda doing weird things with her mouth.

She needed to hide from the humiliation from her marriage.
She needed time to reflect and be alone. Otherwise, a person could end up killing themselves over such humiliation. Even now, everyone criticizing her at different angles.

Shows how selfish she is knowing what Hillary was up against. Though it was Hillary who should have reassigned her, but once again it showed Hillary has poor judgement. And was best she didn't win. In fact, she should have gotten rid of Bill long before she ran. People didn't want him back in the white house with all his sex scandals. A lot of smart people are often downed by poor judgement in life.

Anonymous wrote:Ew- she and Weiner are two of the main reasons Trump won. I saw her interviews-- the ugly looking witch is now playing the victim.

It's one reason for sure. Along with the emails, and the Comey announcement just before the election. However, Trump campaigned much harder than Hillary. He smartly kept going back to the rust belt whereas Hillary didn't. Many people switched at that point.

Yes I don't find her attractive, and playing a victim is always unattractive... Apparently there's a fan of hers on here that keeps falsely proclaiming she's beautiful, lol. Still she could do far better than A.W. which was really trolling the bottom. I find it humorous she went on phony MSNBC of all places to promote her book. They are the Enquirer of cable news along with CNN.
