Here is what happened.

Defense and Prosecutor entered several pieces of evidence. Including:
- A copy of the chats between CB and JR was entered under seal
- Multiple pictures of the scene were entered, many under seal.

Defense's Argument

- Prosecutor previously "misstated" that AP had bought plane tickets using her passport.
- She actually had used to apply for a work visa and student visa. AP was legally in the country at the time of her arrest with no intention of leaving.
- Prosecutor has not provided any actual evidence of a conspiracy. Just public statements.
- AP was actively dating multiple people, did not deny relationship with BB during police interview, but mentioned she was dating several people.
- Prosecutor overstated extent of JR's incapacitation from first shot. The Medical Examiner stated that there was possibility that JR could see and move.


Prosecutor's Argument

- Prosecutor surprised Defense with a document showing that ICE has asked to be notified if she is release from custody, and they have a warrant for her. He is afraid that if she is released and ends up in federal custody, they will deport her.
- Prosecutor stated that there is no extradition treaty with Brazil, and that the Feds do not have to acknowledge the case's priority. Feds could just deport AP and then the state of VA has no control.
- Prosecutor also argued that she is manipulative and can be manipulated, and therefore still a danger.
- Displayed a picture of JR's body. JR was clutching his stomach on his back
- Mainly re-iterated things said previously at preliminary hearing.
- Mentioned that BB took the 5th on every question during prelim.


Other facts that came out (from chat transcripts and other things referred to by both sides)

- CB and JR communicated using Fetlife and Telegram.
- JR brought up the idea of bringing a knife, CB asked about the details.
- They discussed blood play (cutting)
- CB asked JR, "Do you still want to tear off my clothes? I have a set of old pajamas you can tear"
- A set of ripped pajamas was recovered from the scene
- Pics of a knife, ropes, chains, rubber restraints were sent by JR to CB
- CB took selfie in a bathing suit and sent to husband. A few hours later sent the same selfie to JR with caption: "I sent this to my husband and he didn't even notice I lost 20 pounds"
- Judge questioned about the 45 min phone call over telegram that occurred between CB and JR
- After the phone call, JR texted: "It was great hearing your sexy voice"
- JR wrote that he had only done blood play once before, with razor blades
- CB had several superficial cuts that barely broke the skin
- JR was in the process of cutting CB with BB walked in
- CB wrote "trip to the zoo" on calendar
- CB had multiple lacerations to her neck and carotid artery. Three lacerations to the right side of her neck were the most likely the cause of death
- In the second 911 call, (mentioned but not played) BB is trying to save CB's life by applying pressure

Judge's Decision
Denied bond for two reasons.
- First, that FCPD could lose jurisdiction/control if the Feds take custody and/or deport
- Second, that AP could still pose a risk to community.

This is wild. Still doesn’t prove anything, but it’s looking more likely that CB was talking to JR. If removing pajamas were actually discussed in the chat, and then found in the house. That seems waaay too specific.

And mentioning her husband didn’t notice her. Only a woman would think of writing something like that. Sounds like their marriage was falling apart.

SAME To the last PP. It sounded so cliché -- like something a guy would say if trying to be a woman. That alone made me suspicious. This is exactly what I have been wondering- and wondering if I have missed any reported forensic detail. I agree that I assumed that forensics would have pretty easily been able to show who likely did the stabbing, especially as the scene was observed immediately. This to me seems like the most obvious indicator in the whole thing. The blood residue, knife, etc.

At the very least, it will be interesting to find out if the knife came from the house, Joe's house, unknown and whose prints were on the knife.

The person in court said that Joe sent an image of a knife and agreed to bring one. Whose to say that BB did not have a duplicate based on image. So coincidental that Joe had never done knife play, BB wants a fall guy and after meeting them all of a sudden Joe is bringing a knife. He and CB did not consent to homicide however. And friends have posted that CB had a blood clotting disorder. So she likely did not consent to any knife play. Joes prints were undoubtedly on the knife he brought. Doesn't mean it wasn't used to kill CB and prints of Joe re-applied.

Even if BB was not yet having an affair. Even if BB was not in the know about the meetup between CB and JR... He had some VERY strange actions that day. He let his wife bleed out. He was too arrogant and thought he could handle the situation. He failed to call for help in a timely manner. He let his child enter and stay in an unsafe environment. THEN when he's told its best for his child to keep things as normal as possible, he rebuilds his master BR and invites AP to be the new mommy figure. None of it makes sense.

This. Prosecutors and LE have the evidence and have not released AP nor stopped the "continuing investigation" so, not the trump card it may have been seen as by, err, some.

You can see the different elements of the ruse but VA is not having it.

It is disappointing you don't understand the hypocrisy you display. You are ready to send BB to the chair because of his behavior after the event. It is obvious you hate that BB shacked up with AP and want him punished even if he didn't kill anybody.

Or that he DID. He set him up. JR should serve as a cautionary tale. I had a former co-worker in the scene and he only played in public spaces for this reason. Even in a hotel, things can go very sideways. Even if you are big and martial arts trained you may cross paths with a complete psycho.

I think of the photos his friend shared of that goofy group pretend LARPing. BB is a whole different type of creature than that. They are out there. Be wary. The typical safety precautions were no match for his scheming.

I'm actually against the death penalty personally. Also against murder. That is what merits criminal penalties.

There have been plenty of cases where LE ruin people's lives based on their own prejudices and egos. It's been a year, BB isn't charged with anything. Maybe LE has an ace up their sleeve or maybe they are a bunch of incompetent bullies. It's cool you are a big LE fan but I have my doubts regarding Fairfax County PD competence, and I'll leave it at that.

I did try to support a friend after a tragic incident as much as I could. Afterwards he was pretty depressed/shocked, he didn't sleep much at night, stopped going to the gym, and lost about 20-25 pounds.

I thought he was getting a bit better, then AP got arrested and we all found about that. Then he got depressed again and I was afraid he would actually kill himself. If anything stopped him, it was his daughter.

I don't know why you insist this was that type of fetish. The evidence shows that Christine (or someone pretending to be Christine) is the only one who communicated with Joe and that she alone wanted to meet him. There was no mention at all of BB being involved or even asking her to do it. In fact, she (or someone pretending to be her) complained about her husband to Joe. That points to me that it was just the two of them, and the husband was involved. I think you are projecting your own fetishes onto this poor dead woman.
