2021 DMV Boys Outlook

Holdbacks are huge problem in the 2023 class. Look at the dc dogs. Want to know why they are the best team in the country because it isn’t there hard work or extreme talent it’s because they are all HOLDBACKS. The Sjc fogo is 18. All the prep players are 17-18. The Gonzaga and pvi players are all 17-18. They are all holdbacks and cheaters. Yes they might have 20 D1 commits by December but in the end they had to cheat to get there.

If you did some detective work, you would have been able to uncover this.

He has one year left of HS athletic ability in the state of Maryland - I’m sure the family took this into consideration when deciding to transfer to GP.

I’m not bashing anyone but stating the facts.

5 mins of detective work doesn’t necessarily uncover this, especially when he played U15 in 2019-2020. Get off your high horse. So he reclassified one year. Big deal, you know how many kids repeat a year?!. Leave the kid alone and stop hating on him, you’re just showing your jealousy for his success and lack of class picking on a child.

And BTW, Episcopal is in VA so not a Maryland school and 2020 wasn’t much of a year (no IAC league games), so my guess is he will be just fine playing two years for Prep. And if not, then he goes to another school for his senior year, sounds like he’s so good anyone would be happy to have him. Either way, you do you and let him do what he chooses to do. Not really any of your business.

He went to Episcopal because he wouldn’t see field at Landon for a while as JV freshman. Likely leaving Episcopal because they will stink next year. Good skill but nothing special.

Strongly disagree. Nice kid and great family. Great get for GP.

My child is very young for lacrosse (May bday). He has kids that are as much as 18 months older than him. I could hold him back (he is a rising 8th grader), but we chose not to. I figure it is better for my son to play against older kids anyway.

Those who do hold their kid back, I am totally fine with. They are playing by the rules that the sport allows, so figure out a way for your child to compete. It's really not a problem nor worth complaining about.

Not a “huge problem” for anyone but the whiney parents of kids who couldn’t cut it regardless of age.

I'm of the opinion that it is what it is, though, let's face it, it is cheating.

Casey did a ton to help grow the sport in the inner city via Winners Lacrosse.

I hope it was his own decision to step down as he was a class act.

I wish him nothing but the best
