If you involve public in your private and professional lives to earn money, you are literally inviting them to speculate about past, present and future episodes of the story.

To be fair, their real picture is probably very different from what they potray or public imagines.

I think they left because he had some resentment toward his brother and she amplified those feelings, making him believe he was equal to his brother when that just can’t be the case in a monarchy. The younger sibling needs to know their place (prince edward did a great job at that). This kind of sensibility didn’t sit well with him all his life probably, and along came Meghan and told him that he deserves more and that they should blow it all up for the sake of freedom. Except freedom in California, away from the land of your forebears and your extraordinary heritage, does not seem to be fulfilling for Harry and he’s sad his kids are missing out on all the pomp of being royals. People who are not from class based societies don’t fully grasp what he gave up, I feel.

I can see this. She gave him a taste of American-style individualism and he seems like he got into some New Age/empowerment stuff too that seems very Hollywood. But they have nothing to offer on their own and they would have been better off becoming the Edward-Sophie of the next generation; appearing places dressed well, smiling and not saying anything. They wouldn't have to constantly hustle as they are now. I can see them eventually divorcing.

Exactly. American style individualism requires smarts and wits in order to succeed. I don’t think either of them is intelligent.

She is. She was an American woman in her mid 30’s of mixed race and not of high income, fame, or status who moved to a foreign country and within less than a year made enough contacts/friends to direct her to the Prince and in less than a year, gets married. She did what Kate and family waited for ten years in one year.

Kate and William were college sweethearts with common friends and close bond with her family.

William treated Kate awfully and cheated on her throughout the 10 year courtship. The press essentially gave her an eating disorder by calling her Weighty Katy.

He did not care or protect her from the press. Maybe he was the one feeding them the stories. We don’t know. I believe Harry is telling the truth when he explains his brother leaks these stories to the press in order to keep his own stories out of the media.

You are the definition of dumb.

He didn't cheat. Do more research.

They caked her "waity" Katy because she was waiting on a proposal.

No one believes Harry.

I think Harry would have been married earlier, but at least two girlfriends (Chelsea and Cressida) broke up with him. He always seemed moody and petulant and is probably not an easy person to be with.

This. Sorry, but if you make your living off of the public you have to take the bad with the $$$. Harry is ill equipped for nonroyal life, I don’t think he had any idea what he was going to be dealing with and I can’t understand why he is always the victim. My hot take, Harry never had to go it alone, he had trusted friends and advisors that exercised very tight controls on every aspect of his life whether he realized it or not. Even his girlfriends were part of this group and understood the rules, though he didn’t realize it they all looked out to protect him as part of the Royal family (he wore a nazi costume how would that go down for anyone else)He didn’t realize that this was carefully curated, did he think these staff members did nothing all day? He just thought the world existed as he experienced it. He trusted that Meg was also looking out for his best interest but she had no plan of playing second fiddle to anyone and had big plans of her own, none of which lined up with royal protocol. Life in LA is brutal, and your value is directly tied to what you can give someone else (ratings? Money?) So, together, their naivety created the current situation they are in and both seem incapable of taking responsibility for their own actions. Always the victims in every possible way. I think Harry will have a mental health crisis and that will be the end of the marriage, not sure what will happen with the kids.

Chelsea and Cressida were extremely wealthy young women who wanted no part of the royal fishbowl. Cressida’s older sister turned down Willam.

How is any of that different from the rest of the royal family though? Like in what way are Harry and Meghan worse that Charles, or William, or Andrew? This is the perpetual issue with the royals, all of whom push up against what the public and the press want from them, and seem not to understand that their entire fortune and position is premised on the public having access to them in this way. They all want the adoration and support of the public but then will beg for privacy when the scrutiny gets hard.

Not here to defend Harry or Meghan but I find so many of these comments bizarre because they presume the BRF is an admirable organization that deserves protection or the benefit of the doubt. What? In what universe. These people are all ridiculous. They take a lot and give back very little and we'd all be better off if they just got rid of this system, sorry.

“Weighty Katie”, lol!

Too stupid to live.

Cons? She was a broke divorced childless middle aged D-list actress on a cable show that was ending and she was partying on yachts overseas. She had precisely zero better options.

It really just comes down to what the Brits want. And it seems a majority still want a Royal Family, per polls. I guess the reasons vary - culture, history, national pride, etc. I think Queen Elizabeth did a good job fulfilling a 'noble' purpose and duty in terms of not making it about her but rather as a representative/symbol of the country. Or at least she tried. They do bring attention to causes and lots of tourism revenue for the country too. Charles has too much prior drama and baggage to have that much respect. Will be interesting to see how William does. He seems to be relatively drama-free especially compared to other current and future monarchs around the world.

After writing that, I guess I can see why they were skeptical of Meghan and she of them once she realized what the real job entails (cutting ribbon at the new hospital in rural England, etc.) She probably wasn't too into duty.

I don’t follow. None of the others left the royal family and cried about the consequences.

Why does she keep posing pictures of the backs of her kids? She really, really wants us to want to see them. Nobody cares what the backsides of her kids look like and close to nobody cares what they look like from the front.

Constantly posting photos of them from the back is just crazy. She wants to protect their privacy? That’s great- we don’t need to see them at all. Most of us would be happy of H&M just disappeared.

This is a good question. I would like to know why old pictures of Archie show him with dark auburn or brown hair and Lillibet with dark blonde or light brown hair, but they both now have orange hair. Wtf. I have a redhead sibling and his hair was consistently red from birth. It did not change from brown to red.

Because she wants the benefits of being seen as a protective mother. I mean the logical thing would be to not photograph them at all but Meghan already worked them into her brand so must have photos.

Exactly. So typical of them. Trying to have it both ways. Trying to profit off these teases, while at the same time pretending to be protective. Just don't publish pics!
