I hate this couple and I'm not interested in them at all. I also think it's so sad and shallow that Miranda just jumped headlong into a serious relationship (moving across the country) with no time to process the end of her 20+ year partnership with the father of her child. And the show just treats like it is fine and hysterical and look at her try a strap on.

I get that the show wanted to bring in more representation, but they should have introduced another couple.

If they wanted to make this at all believable, they should have had Miranda divorced from Steve already. I think the way it's set up is simply a story arc for Miranda, which, fine. I admit I haven't watched S2 episodes yet, but I find it a little surprising that no one has had a conversation with Miranda about exactly what you said above - aren't these supposed to be her longtime best friends?

Agree. They could have done some of the scenes in the first season, where they are watching TV on the couch and her being bored via flashbacks. It would’ve made much more sense for them to launch the new series with her getting over a divorce, and it would’ve made her much more sympathetic. Now she just seems desperate and pathetic.

Also, if I thought my son was suicidal, I don’t think I would go enjoy a sitcom taping even if I had a plan to go home later. And she knew she couldn’t have her phone…. She was expecting his call, why would she go in? Everyone on that set thought she was an a-hole, so I assume it’s no surprise the audience also thought she was in a-hole. I don’t get why they’re making a main character so unlikable.

+1 Miranda is horrible. It’s like they saw all the criticism of Che and instead of making Che better they made Miranda worse.

I have a question. Is Carrie living in her original apartment? I can't quite tell.

Yeah - she sold the one she shared with Big after he died. Then she bought another super expensive one, but decided she hated it, and sold that one, too. Then she moved back into this place - which I guess she'd been holding onto all these years? (Can't remember if they said how/why, other than money is magic in the SATC world.)

Am I the only one who's actually enjoying this season, (many) flaws and all?

Soon they are gonna show Che’s vajay to be “edgy”.

I wonder if it’s shaved or hairy bush times.

Then Charlotte will show her vajay, shaved with Botox.

SJP no vajay because homie don’t play that.

Thoughts on the MILF list in the latest episode? I thought it was a pathetic attempt to be edgy and current. No way would high school boys put Charlotte on there.

Agree. Hated the MILF storyline, it didn't make any sense. Charlotte and whats-her-name/initials would 1) not turn the head of any teen boy 2) care one bit about turning the head of a teen boy. And they certainly wouldn't be drooling over said teen boy in the hallway. It was all gross and out of touch.

I have a friend with almost this exact storyline in real life, except she is a few years younger than Miranda. It seemed unbelievable when it was happening to her, but it really did and so I don’t find the Miranda story implausible at all

I wanted to give the show an honest shot being a fan of the original. But it is so contrived, preachy and overdone. Nothing wrong with introducing more diverse characters, but the way in which they did was forced, contrived and way too cringey. It completely is a 180 from the original fun, cool vibe with big heart. No one cares about these characters anymore bc they didn’t stay true to who they were. I’d rather watch the re reruns.

I really don't want to see Che's blue-striped bush

I hate the name of the series, I hate the denigration of the characters they carefully built for 7 years. Not funny. Stupidly PC and overly apologetic. Has none of the fun of the original. Afraid to be irreverent which was why it was funny - it pushed boundaries. I have to cognitively separate this series from the original. Why dont they just hire the original writers?

My hope is Carrie will start dating again. Have her date a variety of guys, different ages etc like the original series. It needs to be lighter.

I think I am enjoying this season because the 1st was so bad. This seems better.

How did Nya and Miranda suddenly become besties? They didn’t really show that progression well.

Che crying about her weight stemmed very disingenuous to me. They are trying to soften her up so she appeals more to viewers.

I don’t find it implausible at all. What I find strange is that they are making the audience not like Miranda and it does make her friendships with the other characters seem shallow. That was the core of the show.

Just because something is plausible doesn’t mean people want to watch a show about it.
