Biden's VP?

There will be a lot of animosity if whoever the Vp pick is coronated in 2024 like 16/hrc.

Bass and duckworth wouldn’t be able to block out challengers like Harris would.

This is an interesting perspective, I havent thought of it that way. Would you also include Susan Rice on that list?

Yes, because rice is not tested in electoral politics.

We all know in this town amazing policy pros that would melt on the stump.

Rice would be a horrible retail politician. She’s a black HRC.

Her constituency would be Atlantic readers.

Not happening. Too many negatives.

Your flooding this thread with this same sentiment won't make your perspective more credible.

NP: I've been a fan of Harris as VP. But I was talking to my mom this morning - she's white, in her late 70s, hates Trump, totally addicted to MSNBC - and she was telling me there's just something about Harris she doesn't like. My mom is my barometer for how normal Democrats are responding to the world - and if she's feeling this way about Harris, I am going to guess that plenty of other people do, too.

I still like Harris. But now I worry she doesn't pass the Mom test.

The Mom test crucified the most competent and prepared presidential candidate in 2016.

Tell you mom that she doesn't have to freaking be BFFs with a woman to note that she can do the damned job.

+1 I hope we’ve learned not to run anyone with high negatives again.

Thanks. Great advice. Worked well in 2016.

West Coaster here with Midwestern mom. We’ve literally had the same conversation. She would never vote for Trump, but she points out all of her neighbors will if Biden picks the wrong VP. She loves Cuomo and she insists her neighbors do as well.

Eep. It can't be Cuomo. Is there anyone else she likes - or is at least neutral about? How's she feeling about Duckworth or Demmings?

I think most will like Bass when they get to know her. She’s very calm and personable, and seems to have increasing support. Detailed new article:

DP. My parents are early to mid 60s white Democrats. They are both obsessed with Stacey Abrams but realize that she might not be ready for VP at this time. They also like Gretchen Whitmer. And Cuomo too actually, come to think of it. I’ll have to ask their opinions of the others.

He should consider Governor Gina Raimondo of Rhode Island

She clearly had some work done. It did not result in improvement.
