Yep. No doubt that's how they roll in whatever country they're from. Zero respect for the US, from entering illegally to trashing the place. |
Republicans are holding their ground re: aid for Ukraine and Israel - not until Democrats agree to reform the insanity at the border. Amazing that Democrats don't consider OUR OWN border to be worthy of protecting from national security crises. No one knows who these people are and the Biden administration is just letting them waltz right into our country and go wherever they want. I sincerely hope Republicans do not give in until the border security demands have been met.
"Progressive lawmakers and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus are furious, decrying any changes to the status quo as unacceptable. The left might be able to swallow a change to the asylum standard, but they are refusing to budge on the parole issue—since that is Mr. Biden’s tool to allow into the country sweeping categories of noncitizens who otherwise lack a legal basis for admission. Lawmakers on the left also want to keep the asylum and parole issues as bargaining chips for a future debate over paths to citizenship. Joe Biden remains terrified of his party’s left, which is why instead of coming to an agreement with the GOP—something that could have happened weeks ago—the White House has been running every play in the book. It tried the anger approach—berating Republicans as unreasonable and arguing the border is unrelated to national security. It tried fear-mongering. Mr. Biden warned this week that failure to pass the package immediately will lead to a Russian incursion into NATO lands and U.S. boots on the ground. It tried the straw-man ruse, suggesting there was no time to negotiate comprehensive immigration reform—when nobody was thinking that big in the first place. The White House has everything to gain by taking the lead in crafting a deal and then persuading Senate Democrats to help produce a strong bipartisan vote that would put pressure on the House to follow suit. Mr. Biden might have had his foreign aid already if he had been willing to confront the left and make a deal that would help both the president and the country. Better late than never." https://www.wsj.com/articles/democrats-border-unreality-congress-ukraine-israel-aid-mexico-migrants-30d38f4e?st=ih974kc31hcaptb&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink |
Wow, watch this video on CNN of what California residents are dealing with. The migrants are cutting down trees on one man’s property and using them to build fires.

I don’t understand why this WSJ article is blaming the immigration problem on the far left. Biden has said himself that unrelenting immigration is a good thing: |
Absolutely shameful what the Biden administration has allowed to happen. This is a humanitarian crisis, an environmental crisis, and a national security crisis. |
+100 I’m imagining the outrage if all of this was happening under a Republican president. The left is completely morally bankrupt. |
I don't understand in the video at the end it says Border Patrol can't stop people from entering! They can only take them into custody. How is that possible that you can't have a line of border patrol or national guard blocking the border. What crazy rule is that? If people try to storm a border in other countries they can get shot. Here smugglers must realize that so that is why they have people rush past. |
People are coming here expecting government services. That is not right. My grandparents couldn’t come unless they could prove they could provide for their family without government support — and they had 4 American born children. Those children had to stay abroad until my grandfather could support them. My grandparents were separated for 10 years for this reason. This was just the price to be paid to become Americans and they have not let us forget that what we have here in the US is not free. |
It is incredible how much worse his speech has gotten in the few years between this video and today. |
Poland was able to secure its border with Belarus, a far longer border relative to Poland’s size and population than the US/Mexico border. |

Does anyone know the specific policy changes the Republicans are asking for?
I’m not sure I understand what “Sealing the border” really means. Build the entire wall (isn’t that already in process?) More money for enforcement that would be spent on ICE agents chasing people down in the country and returning them? I’ve read that the sticking point is elimination of “parole status” does that mean “temporary protective status” (which is what Biden used with Venezuelans already in the country recently)? I agree that immigration reform is long overdue and think although Biden might be scared of the left, he is going to lose the center if he doesn’t do something. Not dealing with immigration issues here while sending billions abroad is not a good look. |
