Leaving for where? |
This was the boys team they gave that guy from CYA that no one likes, right? |
I disagree. The league dictates the other teams your kid's team plays against. If your kid is playing on a strong team then they need to play in a stronger league. If your kid is playing on a weaker team then they need to play in a weaker league. If the league contains teams with widely disparate abilities then it's of limited use to either type of team. My kids have played in leagues which were too good for their team. They learned nothing and did not enjoy the experience either. They have also played in leagues which were not good enough. They similarly learned nothing and didn't especially enjoy winning every game by a large margin either. On the boys' side there are currently problems with most leagues: CCL - far too much variation between top teams and bottom teams - too many games are mismatches in one direction or the other ECNL - ditto MLS Next - less variation, but structure and stability in question EDP - this league works well, but cuts off at the upper-mid ability range so doesn't work for good teams NCSL - league works fine, but is only for low level teams. |
Loudoun is what I heard. |
| I heard the girls 09 coach for next year has just resigned. |
Why not BRYC? |
I said I heard, how the hell am I suppose to know why not BRYC. Shit show there too. |
Pretty much. |
Actually, Loudoun’s bread and butter is Rec. |
Unlikely SYA parents want to drive from clifton and centreville all the way out to wherever ??? Loudoun practices multiple times a week. Extremely unlikely. |
I don’t think you know where SYA Park is. 10 mins from South Riding, 40 % of the club is from Loudoun County. |
09 boys are not leaving. The coach was not offered a team because of some issues. |
SR is still pretty far to get to loudoun soccer fields. The 09 red SYA team has multiple kids that don’t belong on the team. It was based on selections that Coach Adam (who was a horrible coach) picked from years ago. All he cared was how fast the kids were. Coach Gary.. current red coach pretty much just took those kids. He wasn’t offered a team, and most parents didn’t think he did a good job developing the kids. But he’s a very nice guy. Heard he’s moving away from area. |
Same with SYA. SYA uses their big rec numbers to get tons of field permits to use for their travel program, also, which I guess Virginia Valor will now be enjoying. |
40% of what club? SYA? LOL! SYA has a handful of kids from South Riding, because SYA is closer to SR than where Loudoun County travel teams practice. Maybe people are going to Loudoun but it is a long drive from Clifton/Centreville to way out in Loudoun. |
