The league doesn't make the player or team. There are good and bad teams in every league. If the team continues to improve and win their league and tournaments, players will stay. People are way too obsessed with the league their team plays in.

I understand what you are saying, but it's more complex than that. The league does matter because good players need to play against opponents of similar ability in order to continue to improve. Winning every game 6-0 is not good for anyone's development. And if CCL loses Skyline, Arlington, Loudoun, Alexandria, SYC, and Beach - as appears likely - then there will be a real hit to the overall competitive level.

And the top kids on any really good team, assuming they have ambitions to play in college or professionally, would likely look for a higher level of coaching and play even than CCL as currently constituted, let alone after all the better clubs leave.

The league your kid plays in is kinda like the car you drive, the neighborhood you live in, the size of your <<insert various nouns>>. It is simply something to brag about for most.

^^^^sounds like a parent thats afraid their kid will lose the roster spot ^^^^^

It could be a parent, but I know their first team is really good. We haven’t played cya in a long time, but don’t recall then being any good.

It's worth noting that even the worst team in a league usually has at least one or two players capable of starting for the best team in the same league.

OP is correct 07 Red is loaded, and so is the white team. Go look up the records in CCL and CCL2. The White team (B team) played purple in a tournament down 4 starters in the fall. Purple won 1-0 and was out shot 15-4. So most are vying for B and C team. Good luck to all but would agree it may make sense to look at other clubs. Going from a A team to a C team will be a hard pill to shallow. CYA and SYA are kidding themselves if they think they can maintain 3-4 teams per age bracket.

So rumors are CCL is rebranding and will like have a larger regional tournament.

They have hired coaches for 3 teams per age group pretty much.

SYA could barely field one team for 2011 this year and they are not very good.

They need goalies. But red team was former DA, good luck again. White team is where kids will mostly be placed. I would say 5 slots

I’m sure Virginia Valor will make as many teams per age group as they have suckers willing to pay.

Yep.. 3rd team is revenue for club.. they generally invest little in development

Crap show at the club right now. 09 girls and 09 boys top teams from SYA are leaving. The coach left after not being assigned to take these teams so the kids are mostly leaving. CYA kids suck from what we can tell too so there won’t be much to see.
