What was Flynn's crime? Why did Obama fire him?
Because he tried to convince Obama that Islamic terrorism was still a problem in the wars. |
Do your lies open you up to blackmail from foreign adversaries to the detriment of our national security? He cooperated and plead down. |
That isn't why Obama fired him. |
He was told he would have the espionage and other charges filed against him and took the plea deal. His son is immaterial to this. If nothing else, it illustrates that his son was liable for crimes against the United States of America. Maybe he will be charged by an actual DOJ that believes in the rule of law. |
All this BS is just going piss off Judge Sullivan even more. I bet Trump pardons Flynn before Sullivan gets a chance to throw the book at him. This faux outrage is being thrown out there to give Trump cover.
And Trump seems to believe he needs the same people on his election team that he had in 2016 to win, so Flynn will come work for his campaign. |
Obama fired him because he was bad at his job and was a conspiracy theorist. Trump hired him for the same reasons. |
Really? How many people that are about to be charged with espionage plead down to a process crime that results in no jail time? |
Those that are very closely placed to a potentially-but-thankfully-not-actually compromised president. For starters. |
+1 p.s. I'd love to know where PP gets his information. We all know that Mueller group would have charged him with the highest crime possible. Lying was the best they could do, and they even messed that up with not disclosing the deal in the plea. |
I see. So, Trump had something to do with Mueller not charging Flynn with espionage? |
Oh brother. Go ahead and rejoice in Flynn's forthcoming pardon. If you don't want to understand, you don't want to understand. |
Why did they even go to interview Flynn in the first place?
They had the transcript with the call to Kislyak. They didn't need to ask Flynn what was said. Flynn knew this. Seems like the FBI was LOOKING for a process crime. And, the notes kind of confirm that. |
When Pence, Priebus, Spicer all repeated his lie publicly, that was a problem. Indeed, he got fired for it. There was more going on than just the Logan Act violation and his cover-up, but that was the immediate issue. |
Exactly. Call him up, send a couple of guys over (according to Comey), don't tell him what they wanted to talk to him about (according to Comey), tell him he doesn't need counsel, then grill him on details of phone calls/meetings and try to trip him up. |
What? |
