I think it’s Cassidy. He stayed in Bedford and they started a relationship.

Isn’t Cassidy a bit old for all that stuff as well. She’s already had a wedding and kid. Plus she’s military. I think she’s go for a courthouse wedding if they were pregnant.

Nicky is my favorite character. I loved what they did with his story in this episode. And that one scene where he flashed a real smile-- very handsome and endearing!

Just in terms of looks, the young man Nicky and contemporary Nicky really look like the same person. The casting continues to impress me.

I loved that Nicky started the Thanksgiving shrimp plate tradition!

I know this is just a tv show but the character of Kevin has always been so good to his nieces (see his scenes with Tess) and has embraced Deja. There is no way he would date/get engaged to/have a baby with Deja's mom b/c of how it would affect Deja. Besides, the kid in the future was Caucasian. I don't think it's Cassidy b/c he didn't want to break up her family and Nicky (who I also adore, pp) told him it was a boneheaded move to sleep with her. My money is on Sophie. Yes, she was engaged but the last time they showed her talking to Kevin on the phone she looked over at her fiancé and the look could be interpreted two ways: 1. I'm so lucky to have you or 2. I wish I was with Kevin - my true love. I always thought she was thinking #2 and that they would find their way back to one another.

I agree with the pp that he isn't speaking to Randall b/c of issues with Rebecca's illness. He has always been jealous of Randall's relationship with Rebecca. Something probably blew up that if the other two had known, would not have blown up. But obviously they have resolved it by the time they meet in Kevin's kitchen in the future. And yes, I am aware it's a tv show .

Surely Kate and Toby would have noticed a change in Rebecca and started to recognized the dementia on their own - they most likely see her more frequently than the other siblings now that she moved to LA.

Well, that theory didn't hold up too well (not surprisingly -- thinness does not make you mentally healthy)

Then again, why did Kate feel the need to tell him it wasn't Jack's first solid food? Kids have firsts without their parents all the time. The person who saw it can always just shut up about it. (I did when I was babysitting for a toddler who learned how to jump while the rest of the family was out.)

Where are you getting that Toby isn’t mentally healthy right now? He seems fine to me.

I do agree about Kate and the solid food issue - or nonissue, rather. That was idiotic. All she had to do was smile and play along. It’s not something she needed to confess, for crying out loud!

My theory is that Kevin's fiancee is deja's birth mom. We know he likes african American women and it would really mess with randall and beth if they got together.

that is what i was thinking. i agree about the secrecy of the mom's illness causing the friction between both brothers
