why do people care if Kate Middleton wants to be a SAHM?

Way, way more than William and Kate.

And the Queen's children were mostly raised by nannies while she traveled the world carrying out royal duties. Times are changing, parenting
practices are different now. Three of Elizabeth's children are divorced. William may just be prioritizing a happier family life for himself.

1. Will and Kate also have at least one nanny (nanny Maria) and a full household staff. Additionally, George and Charlotte go to preschool
2. You are assuming that Kate is spending her time not working taking care of her children but you have no idea what she is doing.

Neither do you! Why are you assuming the worst about her, instead of the best?

Never said I did. I do however know a few things about how time works....so if George and Charlotte go to preschool (which it appears that William takes them to) for hours a day and Kate doesn’t have to cook or clean I think I can wonder what she was doing before Louis was born. Oh and also...in addition to her children literally not being at home William barely does more than she does...also freeing up more time.

I think you need to write a strongly worded letter to the both of them; they need to hear your disapproval of their life choices! Because once they know how closely you've been monitoring their private life, I know they'll be mortified. I'm sure they'll think twice about having let you down. Do it soon! Before Kate dares to take too much time at home with her baby!!!

Lol. DP here and I second this. Stop wasting time here and send that letter! Kate must hearken your sage warning or see the monarchy crumble! How very dare you, Kate!

No one believes this is a different poster.

Really? Well I'm the PP who suggested the "strongly worded letter," and I'm not the immediate PP. Who was agreeing with me, btw - which obviously just kills you. Bye bye bitter Betty.

Ah well if another anonymous post claims to be a different person then that most solve it! To the Mystery Van!

If you want to go down that road, then it's pretty clear you are the *only* poster obsessed with why Kate isn't working as much as you think she should be. I have nothing to prove to you. Yet you seem to have one mighty huge chip on your shoulder about Kate. Why is that? Have you sought therapy for your unhealthy obsession?

So that would be you and 9:17.

All I hear from you is “mooooooooo.........”

Prince William used to actually work for a living. When he lived with his father in St. James Palace we could expect regular photo calls, informative visits in various parts of Great Britain, and Patronage activities. Hell, they actually looked like they enjoyed each others company and got along too!

Now if he isn't playing polo all summer I'm guessing he's sleeping all day.

Sometime that still happens

But for the most part getting him to do anything but a clenched half-smile is like pulling teeth.

I do love this picture for the sheer joy on their faces though.

Who cares that Kate doesn't want to work? Plus what would she do as a royal anyway.

+1 No judgement of her choices here. I work full time because I have to. If I could, I'd be chillin at home with my kids too!

ME TOO.

Yes the media uses this flattering title for her. It's because she doesn't work much.

Stop panicking. Nobody is judging you.

You should really let Kate know your views, PP. She can then tailor her life choices to please you.

That was a different person you weirdo. I’m sorry you feel so defensive.

You're the one who seems oddly invested in what Kate does. Touch a nerve?

DP. It is not oddly invested to note there is a public discussion about a public figure. Freaking out about the existence of that public discussion is indeed oddly defensive, however.

Ah, well. The UK can decide what it wants. I am glad it's not my tax dollars going to support their shenanigans, but since it's not, I can just watch the nonsense from afar.

I find it so funny that you would describe a happy, healthy, wholesome family as engaging in "shenanigans" simply because the mom is currently devoting most of her time to raising their children. These people aren't the Kardashians. There are no baby daddies, no alcoholism or drug problems, no partying all night, no issues, period. And yet, you choose the word "shenanigans" to describe their lifestyle. Only here on DCUM do we find such twisted values.

FYI the ski trip was after skipping commonwealth day. He also skipped Charlottes first Easter (which since you are uninformed is significant because of the role of the royal family within the Church of England) to go to his ex gf Jecca’s wedding.

But you're not overly and unhealthily invested in the royal family's business or anything.

Royal family’s business = British taxpayers’ business.

It’s because they have to make money. Gotta say something.
She’s beautiful, thin, fertile, an involved parent, and dedicated spouse. I’m sure they are quite disappointed. No scandal. No gossip.

She should've married a rich man so she could be a lady who lunches. Not a prince.

How do you know she isn’t working?

They meet with organizations privately too. She could be setting up for children’s parties, play dates, researching orgs she wants to invite to those, in order to expose her children to people outside their world, setting up phone calls with their representatives. She could be quietly visiting people in hospitals with no press. She could be focusing solely on her children’s education and experiences. She could be watching Monk all day.

You don’t know.

When she goes behind closed doors, how do you know what she is or isn’t doing in KP?

She has people for this.

She’s not calling or researching on her own. There’s no way.
