We took out this trash, did we not? When he had the chance to run for office again, he lost resoundingly. |
You are deranged. |
To be fair, the legal system did step in and was requiring him to leave the home. The only other level of protection is an order of protection and guess what? It literally does not protect you. I know. I'm a DV survivor that was stalked - footprints to my apartment in the snow kind of stalking and the police said they could do nothing until he took action against me aka he tried to kill me. So there is nothing a court can do to protect a woman. |
...AND? What could she do? Until he killed her no one would take her seriously. Just see how many rape-deniers are currently blaming her murder on the "questionable" rapes. For real? You think this murderer isn't also guilty of rape? Uh-huh. |
A protective order tends to provoke more than protect. Are you seriously suggesting it would have kept her safe with him entitled to live in the house until 4/30 and have access to his kids? Genuine protection from abusive narcissistic men is a unicorn in most cases. My ex attempted to kill me and my child and my lawyer said it was a long shot to get the protective order because I had to prove not only that he tried to kill us but that he was an on-going threat. How TF would anyone reach that standard? It also took 8K leading up to the protective order trial. So it'll cost you something like 15-20k to get a protective order (or not). |
You are a good example of a blue cultist, and why in polling the Democrats as a party remain less popular than the Republicans, even with a president as horrific as Trump. Look at this thread. Look at it! It is an object lesson in Democratic failure and those of us who cling to some small hope of the Democrats maybe actively trying not to be genuinely awful are in despair. Of course I am a Democrat. I am just one who is profoundly disillusioned by the party, and this thread is a good object lesson in why. And I’m not alone. Outside of the blue cultists, the rest of Democrats are desperately trying to right the ship. People like you just want to sink it. |
Absolutely. And true independents like DH and I will end up voting for the next Gary Johnson or whatever because neither party offers anything. |
Np and I agree 100%. The comments by people who proudly claim to be democrats are sickening. |
I 100% do not understand the people saying this is an example of problems with Democrats. As soon as the allegations came out about Fairfax, the Dems dropped him like a hot potato. Unlike people on the right who continue to be embraced despite credible allegations. Dems don’t play with that sh-t. Even Franken, whom everyone liked and who was actually good at his job, got dumped. |
+1 once the allegations against Fairfax came out Democrats shut up about ousting Northam because Fairfax was perceived to be worse, and then when he tried to run again a few years later he was overwhelmingly rejected. |
| Does anyone know what Fairfax childhood was like? He seemed like he just was totally incapable of dealing with any set back—-if he wasn’t on a rocket ship to success, he was just going to spiral into animosity and aggression. Another person might have picked up and found a low profile way to at least put bread on the table but clearly he couldn’t stoop to that. I’m just wondering what kind of a background he came from (before Duke). |
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Justin_Fairfax He graduated from DeMatha where he was Class President. I suspect the alcoholism contributed to his spiral. Alcohol is a known depressant. |
| The wikipedia article also states that he lost custody of his children which I would think is very, very rare. |
OMG HE WAS AN ABUSER! that is a choice. He threatened suicide before to get sympathy. He could no longer control or have power over his wife SO HE KILLED HER. Depression has absolutely nothing to do with it. Abusers know how to manipulate everyone into feeling sorry for them and giving them slack for their evil behavior. |
His brother is the Dean of Howard’s law school. |
