I had a medical emergency there was no other family available to call who could be at my house in quick order, and DH was traveling and couldn't be reached. 100% the paramedics were fine with me leaving my son with a neighbor while I sought medical treatment, For, what it's worth, had I died, or had I been hospitalized for an extended period of time, a family member couldn't be reached the next step would have been foster care. She failed to file it one year during a stressful time and what do you think happened? She was detained, thrown in jail, mugshot, separated from her children until it could be resolved legally. How inhumane.
