ICE is now arresting preschoolers and sending them to detention centers

Anonymous
MAGA is awfully quiet on this one. Please tell us, MAGA, what'd this kid do to deserve this? Be born not white? He's obviously a little terrorist in the making! Don't be fooled by his tiny little terrified face!

I was sent to detention when I was in school.

As a preschool teacher who works primarily with immigrant families, this terrifies, enrages and sickens me in equal measure. The stress these families are facing is really becoming more evident with each passing day.
I am ashamed of this country.

These ICE agents will rot in hell for the evil they are doing.

Agreed.

At a minimum, thank God it seems the boy and his father have not been separated.

I actually agree with you that they should never separate families. (I mean have they, though? Are dad and son together?) I think it would actually have been worse to have left the boy with a stranger with whom he might or might not be safe.

What makes the situation UNFORGIVABLE is that the father was legal. It isn't that he is not a violent criminal. It is not that he is not any sort of criminal. It is that he is here LEGALLY.

What is happening in my country?

Kristi Noem said youDHS wants "the worst of the worst" off the streets. When that turned out to be an absolute falsehood, you all said, we need all illegal immigrants off the streets. HE IS LEGAL.

How can anyone defend this?

Kristi Noem the proud puppy killer and her ICE agents ARE the Worst of the Worst. She can watch a baby get tear gassed and nothing about her zombie alien face shifts an iota. She and her agents are cold-blooded killers just looking for any excuse to beat, harass, gas, and shoot people.

Pure evil.

Crossing the boarder is not a trip to Disneyland, it’s a crime.

They applied for asylum. They are LEGAL.

Read what their lawyer said:

Stenvik said Liam’s family has an “active asylum case” with no deportation orders.

“I have viewed the legal paperwork with my own eyes,” Stenvik said, adding that leaders from Liam’s school visited his home on Tuesday after he was detained to provide support to his family, including a middle school student in the district who returned home to find out his father and brother had been taken.

Marc Prokosch, who is a lawyer representing Ramos’ family, said he is still not sure of the exact current whereabouts of Liam and his dad. He believes, based on the experience of other clients he has worked with, that they are currently in Texas in a family holding cell.

“Every step of their immigration process has been doing what they’ve been asked to do, and so this is just … cruelty,” Prokosch said, noting that Ramos’ family is currently going through an asylum application process.

“I’m exploring whether we file a habeas corpus petition to get him out, we’d have to actually file that down in Texas now,” Prokosch added.

This family is "legal."

That won’t happen, they are Caucasian.

Eh, who knows. Maybe they piss off another kid whose daddy is an ICE agent. It's not like they have rules.

I am so F-ing sick of people defending ICE with this BS. I guarantee if we dig a little, most Americans have broken a law. Drank underage? People speed, run red lights etc. I think of most illegal immigrants as this same level of law-breaking. Their motivations are to have a better life. The vast majority are not hardened criminals as this corrupt, lying administration would have you believe.

The system is broken, because we don't process people like we need to. We need to have security and know who is coming into the country. We need to have people properly registered and go through a process to become legal citizens. We don't make that easy or efficient.

And right now ICE is going after citizens and people who DID follow the process, not just people who avoided the process. So F U if you defend ICE right now, because that means YOU don't believe in law and order, YOU don't believe in due process, YOU don't believe in a fair immigration system, and YOU are a piece of psychotic crap who like watching people hurt and human rights being violated. People who support ICE are a FAR bigger danger to society than your typical illegal immigrant.

Society would be better if we'd work to make illlegal immigrants citizens and let them work and pay taxes and we export all the MAGA sickos.

Dude, they needed the paperwork to enroll their kid in school.

You know NOTHING. So yes, you're just lying.

Most illegals didn’t cross the border. Majority of illegals came here legally but have expired visas or green cards that they tried to renew but were held up due to the roadblocks in the system. They also cannot travel back to their country with an expired visa. Unless you can afford fancy immigration lawyer, that’s the reality of most undocumented. Most came here legally, paperwork expired, and now they’re screwed

I can guarantee MAGA isn't even aware of this. They live in a right wing media cocoon. Fox News is not covering ICE brutality. The media universe has changed so much in recent years that there is no recognition of basic facts anymore. The people that are lost in Fox, Newsmax, the Daily Wire etc are living in an alternate reality. It's very Orwellian.
