Dude, look up marital laws. Your pension earned prior to marriage can’t be taken away from you. Only your first wife could as it was earned during long marriage. Just so unbelievably uneducated ! |

They have baggage. No thanks.
Try finding a guy with no baggage |
I’m a 48yo woman NW over $5m most of it liquid. My BF is 42 no kids married once he pays for dates we split travel he’s an engineer making $250k. I’m happy like a clam |
Oh wow. I had no idea! Well, I guess what you say goes! |
I’m the poster who means this in the kindest way. You don’t sound crazy because you have a backbone. You sound crazy because you are obsessed with your ex. |
The previous poster here is clueless. It's not like the pension is the only thing that comes in retirement, especially if you've done your tsp, which is essentially a 401k. That military retirement on top of the other investments that have a good rate of return. It's just more icing on the cake. Especially when you take the military retirement or your federal pension and just apply it towards a high-yield account or take that money and dump it into stocks. That's what I was doing and I got a good rate of return. And my other theories still stand, women in DC are not marriage material |
Can you be more specific? What specifically about women in DC make them “not marriage material”? Why women in DC specifically? |
| He’s clueless - military pensions are a joke in most cases and not worth of investing 20 years of professional career in it. Only a complete and total financial ret..rdation would force anyone with a decent degree put on boots to earn early pension. Nobody steeply wealthy (1%) will flex their pensions, unless it’s someone who retires from an international organization with an old pension plan matching last salary. |
Nothing. He’s paranoid just thinks they are all after his pension. I went on some dates with such former military ret…rds |
No, you are clueless. Those people who went to college and earned their masters while you were in military earned assets that exceed NPV of your pension in multiples. All while you wasted your years having kids early and getting slowly promoted in the military. You’ll never make up the loss of active years no matter how hard you invest. These other people are light years ahead of you in early 40s. AND they also have other assets and side businesses. |
Wow, this is one bitter old bitty. And I say this as an ex-wife. |
lol |
Good. You seem awful. |
Just like all the married and single mothers, way to go! You’re a single father with 100% custody? |
After my wife died… |
