This is clear when every meeting with our SB member was met with whataboutism and telling us we were wrong. I encouraged them to drive our neighborhoods and understand continuity of community + commute differences. |
Shhhh…. You cannot dare bring this up on this forum. People go nutso over this possible move. |
Region 5 includes a few schools close to Herndon but they are going to be affected far more by KAA than anything having to do with Forestville. Odds are this “priority” recommendation was pushed through by one Woodson parent who is a notorious School Board shill. Whether SB members like Frisch and Lady put her up to it, or she did this on her own, the odds are high that this was her handiwork. The BRAC process has been corrupt from the beginning, when they stacked the committee with some hand-picked members to supplement the pyramid representatives, and also gave Woodson three reps when every other pyramid besides Fairfax only had two. Shame on Reid and shame on this School Board for orchestrating such a farce. The entire boundary study should be canceled. |
We all know who ran Region 5. And, FWIW not one of the Region 5 members lives in a Herndon or Oak Hill zip code. So, drop that conspiracy theory please. |
If it was logical why wasn’t it previously proposed by Thru Consulting or by the Region 1 (includes both Langley and Herndon) BRAC members, rather than by a region that includes someone who has worn her hatred of Langley on her sleeve for years? |
This is nonsense. And the kaa boundaries need to establiished before any thing is changed with the western pyramids. |
Does a high school define a community? What about families that send their kids to private schools? What about empty nesters? What couples without kids? I believe geography defines a community. People who live in close proximity, have more shared experiences and needs. That is my opinion. Do not worry though. I am not involved in any BRAC meetings or political organizations. I’m just a Fairfax resident with a kid in public high school that is close to my house, and see how that benefits my child. |
Who is this woman with a sworn hatred of Langley? |
The slide that says 47% of preschool students are transfers is sort of misleading because there are not preschool programs in every school…so of course there are going to be big numbers of them going outside their base school. |
Agree. And, I suspect they will be. However, the KAA boundaries will have no impact on Herndon High or Langley High. I don't know why people think they would. Westfield and Chantilly can afford to lose that area because there is a lot of new construction. This could also relieve Centreville. Some adjustment might be needed at Oakton if they put Crossfield in. |
This thread will be eliminated if we tell you. |
+1 And, guess what, you even see empty nesters at games. |
Exactly, but IYKYK. |
Waaaait Why on earth would FCPS even include preschool students in any rezoning decisions? Their data was presdnted specifically to bury the issue that everyone is in arms about, rezoning high schools. The preschool data needs to be dropped entirely. The high school data )AP/IB and language transfers) needs to be isolated and analyzed separately from the rest of the data. |
Yes, its clear it was brought up by someone doing the school board's bidding. |
