I think Gazans are lucky Israel isn’t run by the equivalent of Hamas. |
So if that is your analogy, are you saying that Israel will actually never defeat Hamas and the organisation will just bounce back? Then why are they killing so many civilians? What is being accomplished? |
So we’re back again to my original question: what’s your alternative strategy? |
So your position is that Israel is a more moral entity than Hamas, and actually cares about civilian lives lost and is trying to limit that number and limit the destruction. Is that what you are saying? |
Huh? Israel is at war with Hamas. It has provided evacuation notices so people can move south. The IDF is regarded as one of the most humane militaries there is. |
Then Israel better finish the negotiations quickly and not let Hamas bait them (again). But isn't Hamas being destroyed right now? |
And if the situation stays unchanged, Palestinians in Gaza are getting killed en masse. Ok with you? |
So is this just a minor “raid” into Gaza? |
You can’t answer a question with a question. Do you believe that Israel has a strategy and is pursuing a course of action that will succeed, or don’t you? And if so, why would they then have to worry about Hamas infilitrating the Palestinian population? THEN you can give me a question. |
I’m not the one saying I don’t care what happens to millions of people. So answer my question. |
No one thinks the IDF is humane. Professional yes. Humane no. |
Not sure what the solution is. 30 years ago Palestinians rejected the Oslo Accords, which would have given them an independent state that would have included all of Gaza and 97 percent of the West Bank. The remaining 3 percent would have been compensated with Israeli land. There would also be a land bridge to Gaza. All the settlers, of course, would have been gone. But the Palestinians said no. They offered nothing else. And they launched the Second Intifada.
Suffice it to say when the fighting is done in Gaza, there will be nothing but hatred and resentment. It's impossible to believe that anything like the Oslo Accords will happen in the foreseeable future. Hamas chose barbaric violence, For Israel, a small country, it was the equivalent of nearly 20 9/11s. And now of course, Palestinians are dying as Israel seeks to remove Hamas. The rest of the Arab world will make a lot of noise, but no one will get involved in this conflict. Hamas is supported by Iran, the mortal enemy of Saudi Arabia and most of the Gulf. Syria will do nothing. Jordan will do nothing. Egypt will do nothing. And with the US having sent two carrier groups to the region, Iran and its Shi'a proxies in Iraq, Yemen, and Lebanon will think twice before striking. Iran in particular is very weak. There is little popular support for the regime. Were their military to be significantly depleted, there is an extremely high likelihood of a popular uprising that would overthrow the regime. So, in short, Hamas made a terrible mistake. Palestinians in Gaza are going to suffer. But in the end, nothing changes. Except that Palestinians are an even weaker position than before. |
I think they’re dealing with an insane death cult and there are no good options. But I assume you have ingenious ideas. |
Psychopathic death cult that pumped that money into tunnels and anything to kill Jews with. |
Yeah, we get it, you are an Israeli propagandist. It worked before, now with social media the previously successful propaganda techniques are not working. |
