In 1900, Charles would have married a European princess of the royal blood who was also a proper virgin as those were the moral norms of the time. In 1950, Charles would have a nice selection of virgin daughters of premier aristocrats in Britain. By 1980, virgin daughters were pretty thin on the ground. Diana was one of the few who was apparently a genuine virgin. He was told to take Diana. It's all very odd to modern eyes, but it was one of those instances where the monarchy was trying to apply older rules from a different world that no longer existed to a very different modern world and Charles was trapped by it. But they certainly learned from it, the topic of virginity or social rank never came up with Will and Kate. Who, despite the naysayers, have a pretty happy marriage. I know it's happy because they look very comfortable and normal around each other. And like normal people they have a range of moods and feelings throughout the day and being briefly annoyed doesn't mean you're queueing up for the divorce lawyer. You'd have to be a danged fool to take a brief youtube clip seriously. Very much a danged fool. But then again this thread is filled with danged fools. |
| Please don't come for me, but does anyone else see the way she beams around Federer? Any chance there's something going on there? |

You are a dang fool if you believe that. Kate's family status absolutely played a part in her being (1) even being able to be in the same social circles and schools as Will and (2) being accepted by the monarchy and British people. |
Wouldn’t you? |
I don't think so but she does look super happy with him. I bet he just has a ton of charm and charisma. Their video is adorable. |
| Anyone would beam around Federer!!!!!! |

| Kate wouldn’t cheat. (And I’m one of the posters whose been accused of being Meghan) |
Kate wouldn't cheat and I believe Roger wouldn't cheat on his wife and family either. Who was that one famous British sailor Kate did some sailing events with years ago? She was beaming around him too. Same speculation - "do we think Kate would cheat with so and so?" Look, they are good-looking, charismatic athletes. Who wouldn't be beaming in their presence? Anna Wintour probably beams when she's around Roger! |
You don't know it's happy, anymore than other posters know it's "on the rocks." No one knows anything, we aren't there. It's entirely possible their own families don't really know how they feel about their marriage or how strong it is -- I couldn't tell you with certainty who among my circle of family and friends is in a perfect state of bliss versus nearing divorce. I was blindsided by my brother's divorce. Meanwhile I'm happily married and I've had more than one friend ask me if things are okay because my DH has the male version of resting b**ch face and people sometimes think we're fighting when we are not. In other words, you are as much of a "dang fool" as everyone else. You don't know these people! Acting like you, and you alone, actually KNOW the state of their marriage is ridiculous. At least a lot of the people speculating are willing to admit that's what they are doing. |

I wouldn’t be surprised. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. 😆😆 |
Agreed with the bolded. I don't think Kate would do anything to jeopardize her position. I do think she enjoys being around light-hearted, good humored men. Will always seems pretty dour, I bet she finds it refreshing. And don't blame her a bit! |

William or Harry had a bad childhood due to affairs and disputes of their parents, its not highly likely for them to do that to their children.
To their advantage, both of them married women they liked and loved. Kate was W's college sweetheart and Meghan was H's whirlwind romance with exotic American actress. She gave him motherly gentleness on top of being a sexy life and savvy business partner. Kate is a great mother, acts like a textbook princess and is so people savvy. Her family gives him a sense of home and she even manages to handle his complicated family. They have same friends group and share decades of memories since teenage. They'll be lost without their wives. |
