Capital Orange Parents - If you could do it all over again

This has all been very informative

Again, one person’s lived experience is just that … an experience. The Orange players who were recruited at the Ivies, Academies, high academic D1 and D3 had a different experience. Through the years, many a Blue player weren’t that lucky. So many things go into recruiting and coaches preference. If you are trying to find the absolute correct answer… It’s not out there. Your experience will be different as well. I think we can all agree, that we wish you much success. Best of luck.

I think the point of the story is don’t assume anything whether you are on Blue Orange purple or periwinkle. Seek feedback and advice from many but always remain in charge of your own process and path.

2025 has a player that was orange freshman year then blue sophomore then committed to Dartmouth.

There def girls who were on orange who might have had a better recruiting experience somewhere else b/c of the politics. My daughter was 24 orange, played varsity as freshmen at an MCPS school with all county awards, wanted to play in college, but it did not work out for her. If this sounds like your daughter, take an A team spot at a club that has recruiting experience and good success. Pride or MCE A team better option than Cap Orange if they really are good. Yes, the orange 🍊 team has success, but it takes longer and the recruiting director will push the blue players first. Note different colleges track the A teams at events. Keep it simple and don’t get sucked into the brand. A team over orange every time.

This is consistent with everyone that I’ve talked to. Orange is unlikely to get you recruited for a scholarship. However, it could complement as an admissions hook for the right school provided you have the right academic profile and are aggressive about contacting coaches yourself.

This is very contradictory to many of the posts here. When I look at recent commitments from Pride or MCE I am not seeing much of anything? Not sure how they would have had a better opportunity there?

At the 25 level Pride Black and Cap Orange were equally skilled. They played twice over the past couple of years with both teams winning a game by 1 goal. I'll leave the argument about who recruited better to you but its disingenuous to say that not much of anything from a Pride commitment perspective. Nearly 3/4 of the team will be playing in college and those schools include D1, D2 and strong academic D3. And like Cap Orange, likely more to come.

I stand corrected. I did not see their commitments listed on the teams iwlca page when I looked but do now see it on the Pride Instagram.

Congratulations to them!

This will be the last year anyone talks about Pride recruiting classes.

I disagree the 26 team is doing well and could have similar results.
