Bravo. This right here. This is what you all need to be focusing on. This is great. Thank you |

You may be right, but it’s absurd CLC is the only real option in the DMV area. |
|
Is this sarcasm or are college coaches watching MC Elite? |
Absolutely not |
Care to elaborate or are you just trolling? What is a better option? |
| It’s a troll. Ignore. At this point, there of 16 pages of opinion. If you don’t have time to read all 16, just read the last two, and you’ll have to make up your own mind. |
| The reality is if your kid is dreaming of playing at Northwestern and is on Orange, there’s a disconnect. Northwestern is a stretch for even the top Blue players. If your kid is on Orange, they likely have some talent but not top tier talent. Therefore, the schools need to be outside of the top 20 give or take. It’s about setting realistic expectations. If expectations are in line with talent, there shouldn’t be much disappointment. |
The highlighted point is spot on. When you consider the numbers there may be about 140-200 players offered by top 20 programs each year. When considering academic fit and schools kids will qualify for or want to attend the number of opportunities are narrowed even further. If there is any teeth to the talk about women’s college lacrosse rosters being capped starting with the 25/26 season the offer numbers will be on the low end moving forward. With these limited rosters college coaches won’t have the luxury of taking chances on players that they can today. So, having realistic expectations as parents and being able to set these with kids playing on a B team is important. Capital Orange seems to hover around 60 in the club rankings each year. There will be individual players on that team who receive nice offers. With 1000+ kids on teams ranked ahead of them though that is a lot of talent wanting the same outcome with very limited spots. Be realistic about what is the best fit for your kids academically and on the field. |
| The problem is: parents aren’t and can’t be realistic to their players abilities. Prob 95% of parents truly believe their player is better and deserves more than the reality of their capability. Their coaches see the truth of the ability. |
| This is true. Here’s a hint: can your kid use both hands interchangeably including shooting and run like a gazelle? If the answer to either of those questions is no, don’t expect a ton of interest. |
| Be honest about your daughter’s ability and what she can do now and how you see her progressing. There def girls who were on orange who might have had a better recruiting experience somewhere else b/c of the politics. My daughter was 24 orange, played varsity as freshmen at an MCPS school with all county awards, wanted to play in college, but it did not work out for her. If this sounds like your daughter, take an A team spot at a club that has recruiting experience and good success. Pride or MCE A team better option than Cap Orange if they really are good. Yes, the orange 🍊 team has success, but it takes longer and the recruiting director will push the blue players first. Note different colleges track the A teams at events. Keep it simple and don’t get sucked into the brand. A team over orange every time. |
Can someone elaborate on this? I had not heard anything about an upcoming change to rosters |
Yes, be honest. Everyone has all county awards. The advice on this thread should be here choose what you think is best. I'd include that your daughter's recruiting experience is up to her. With parents' guidance. All y'all that are putting any help from your club at the top of the list... it's gravy if you get it. |
